#Stevens on #Faverani: "I like Vitor. I think he’s a hard worker. I think he’s a diligent person. He cares about his job and I like him." — Tom Layman (@Tom_Layman) August 29, 2013 Yesterday I posted some quotes from the Vitor Faverani interview on CelticsSpa and concluded that I really like this guy. Any center that loves to set screens and whose screens have his teammates crying for mercy is A-OK with me, and apparently with Brad Stevens as well. #Stevens said Vitor Faverani, Kelly Olynyk, MarShon Brooks, Avery Bradley, Phil Pressey and Jared Sullinger are in town working out. — Tom Layman (@Tom_Layman) August 29, 2013 According to this there are 6 Celtics in town already working out and Stevens said that he expects as many as 9 to be there next week. He also said that Jeff Green has been around at times and hopefully that means that we will see good things from Jeff this season. While I don't expect many of the vets to be there this early, it would behoove Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace and Keith Bogans to show up early and get a jump on things. I would expect DeShawn Sims and Will Blalock to be here as they are trying to catch on with the team after receiving training camp invites. And I would expect Donte Greene to show up since he's also a newbie trying to secure a spot. We'll see who's ready to work over these next few weeks when we see who shows up in Waltham. Stevens said he's never heard a timeline for Rondo, but the C's medical staff tell him he's progressing well and should be in Boston soon. — Bill Doyle (@BillDoyle15) August 29, 2013 One of the players who may be in Boston soon is Rondo, according to Coach Stevens. From Tom Layman's timeline: "I have never heard a timeline from him & the latest that I’ve heard from our medical staff is that he’s progressing well. Our staff has spent a little bit of time w/ him off site here as well as we followed up on his rehab when hes been away. He will be back in town soon. He’s working. I know that for a fact. He’s working hard to get back as soon as he can and I’m sure he will." So from what Brad Stevens said yesterday following his pro-am round, he disagrees with Jared Sullinger's assessment that Rondo should be back by December. Personally, I can see Rondo coming back sooner rather than later. First, it was only a partial tear of the ACL and not a full tear of all three ligaments like many of the players have. Second, it's Rondo. He played with his elbow out of place and hanging at a weird angle. He played a full half on that torn ACL. He's a tough kid. And third, he's going to want to get out there and play will all his new teammates who will be just waiting there to run with him and help him rack up those assists. I know it's still very early, and I know that I shouldn't expect much in a rebuilding year and with a rookie coach, but I'm excited for this season. I think it's going to be a fun one to watch.  [Discuss on CG Forums!]
