Found January 12, 2013 on Orlando Magic Daily:
J.J. Redick was constant movement, and Matt Barnes was visibly tired chasing him around. Somehow the Magic had to know that would play a role in deciding this one. So when Redick gave pump fake to Barnes after coming around a screen at the top of the key, Barnes went flying, knowing he had to worry about the sharp shooter. Redick clamly dribbled to the side and pulled up for a 3-pointer. {youtube}d35l4KnAeng{/youtube} The execution was brilliant and Redick finished it by draining the 3-pointer and giving Orlando a 3-point lead with less than a minute to play in the game. Chris Paul made a floater on the next possession, then it was Redick's turn again to feel the pressure. The Clippers opted to trap Redick off the inbound instead of foul him and he found Josh McRoberts, an obvious candidate for Los Angeles to send to the line. The Clippers scrambled back to try and foul him but McRoberts found Nikola Vucevic underneath the basket all alone. His dunk restored the ...

Redick Drawing Trade Interest From Several Teams

J.J. Redick is having a career-year for the Magic.

Arron Afflalo seems to be getting comfortable

Arron Afflalo was somewhat reflective in his return to Denver on Wednesday. He told the reporters, including Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post, covering the game that playing for the Nuggets was his first opportunity to grow as a scorer and become a better player. In Detroit, he was a bit player on a good team relied on mostly for defense. In Denver, he needed to do more. ...

Nikola Vucevic turning heads with recent play

Little did Nikola Vucevic know he was studying the man he eventually would replace. When Vucevic came to Simi Valley, Calif., from Montenegro in 2007 at the age of 17, he began watching Orlando Magic games on TV. That continued after he enrolled in 2008 at Southern California for what would be a three-year stint. I watched Dwight Howard, Vucevic said. Hes one of the best rebounders...

Magic 104, Clippers 101

J.J. Redick gave Orlando its first lead on a 3-pointer with 42 seconds left, Arron Afflalo tied his season high with 30 points, and the Magic beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-101 on Saturday to snap a 10-game skid. The loss ended the Clippers' franchise-record 13-game, home-winning streak and provided them with a scare when All-Star guard Chris Paul went down holding his right...

Glen Davis nearing return?

Glen Davis has been in the background for the Magic since spraining his shoulder at the end of the Magic's Dec. 19 win over the Wizards. Orlando has gone 1-10 in that time and the team is hungry to have its emotional leader and linchipin back. It appears Davis is close to making his return. Although when his return might happen is up to Jacque Vaughn and Vaughn has said with...

Magic vs Clippers: Predictions

Tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. EST, the Magic will square off against the current number one team in the league, the Los Angeles Clippers. This will be the two teams' first meeting of the season. The Clippers are looking to extend their franchise-record home winning streak to 14, part of a larger winning streak that has culminated in 20 wins in just 22 games. On the other hand...

Magic End Cold Streak Against Red-Hot Clippers

The streak has finally ended! The Orlando Magic (13-23) beat the Los Angeles Clippers (28-9) in an exciting upset Saturday afternoon with a final score of 104-101. The Clippers entered the game tied with the Thunder for the best record in the league, and left it having failed to beat the slumpingest (it's my blog, I'll make up words if I want to) in the entire league. Arron...

Assorted Weekend Observations: Redick, Magic Upset Clippers

***The Orlando Magic have proven once again that they are not to be slept on.  The Clippers, after getting off to a 16-5 start, took their collective foot off the gas, allowing the Magic to hang around.  The Magic went on to outscore the Clippers 29-18 in the fourth quarter, leading to a 104-101 victory.  Arron Afflalo, a Los Angeles native, dropped 8 of his 30 in that very fourth...

After The Storm, Orlando's Future Seems Bright by Quentin Haynes

In his first season in Orlando, Arron Afflalo has played well for the Orlando Magic. Never in a million years did I think we'd be sitting just months out from the four team blockbuster that sent Dwight Howard to Los Angeles thinking: "Orlando really got off well in that trade." Orlando didn't get the best player in the deal, nor did they get the second or the...

Never-Ending NBA Preview: The (not so) ubiquitous Clips' show

The NBA season is here. With that in mind, it is time to flip through the book on the 2012-13 season and to take a look at what the season might have in store -- especially when it comes to the Magic. Be sure to look out for more of these team capsules and to check out all the blogs taking part in this year's NBA Blog Preview (don't worry, I will be linking to all of them...
