Found January 13, 2012 on Crossover Chronicles:
OK so maybe the Boston Celtics haven't gotten out of the gates on the right foot in this shortened season but Celtics' GM Danny Ainge is not pleased at all with the team's performance so far. So displeased is Danny that he has threatened to make roster changes if Boston doesn't show marked improvement before the trading deadline. “I’m committed to the guys as long as they’re going to perform, but they’ve got to perform,” he said. “They’ve got to show they have an opportunity to win. Otherwise, I’ve got to at least make an effort to go another direction.” Tough talk coming from Ainge but after nine games, the Celtics are 4-5 and currently third in the Atlantic Division trailing Philadelphia and New York. But let's face it, many in the NBA are not used to seeing Boston struggle considering they have been one of the best teams in the NBA for quite sometime. So for Ainge, these early team struggles might be something he isn't used to. Or better yet, perhap...

Shaq eats soap after swearing on-air

Shaquille O'Neal has a few things to learn about this whole TV thing. One of the most important things? Learning what you can, and more importantly, cannot say on TV. Shaq made that mistake on Thursday night while appearing on TNT's Inside the NBA, when he uttered a four-letter word that begins with S as the show went to break. "You know who I blame for that s---?"...

Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett Say Celtics Are Rajon Rondo’s Team

Breaking news: the Celtics look old. Actually, they don’t just look old — they are old. Keep in mind that this is a team that no longer cares about proving itself in the regular season. For the past few years, Boston has coasted through the regular season and picked up the tempo come playoff time. A lot of veteran teams do the same thing. Still, it is tough to ignore their flaws...

Rajon Rondo's Scoring Outburst Signals That Celtics Are Already 'His Team' Despite Loss

There was a time when Rajon Rondo scoring 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting while hitting eight of his 12 free throw attempts would have been the greatest thing in the world, or at least the greatest thing in that little corner of the world that houses North Station. Back then, about two or three years ago, 24 points for Rondo would have meant just another 20-point scorer for the guys...

Doc: Perk's a Celtic no matter what

The Celtics will play the Thunder on Monday and face former center Kendrick Perkins. Doc Rivers says Perk is a Celtic for life.

Celtics vs. Bulls preview: PIETRUS!!!!!

Earlier today, one bit of news simultaneously hurt Boston’s chances of pulling back to .500 and built the stage for a meeting that could be monumental. Derrick Rose told ESPN’s John Buccigross he will play tonight against the Celtics. His presence makes Chicago considerably more formidable, as the presence of a defending MVP normally does, but it also allows us to gauge the...

Recap: The song remains the same

Despite Kevin Garnett having his best game of this young season, the Celtics gave-up too many second-chance points, were inconsistent on defense and lost their 4th straight; going down to the Pacers 97-83 tonight in Indy.  KG (and Pierce) led the Celtics with 21 and went 10 of 19 from the field in 28 minutes of action.  The Celtics tallied 24 points in the 1st quarter and...

Celtics can't recover from horrific start, fall to Chicago

The Celtics play like garbage in the first half, digging themselves a hole so deep that it's quickly filling up with liquid hot magma. Doc Rivers reads them the riot act and the team comes on like gangbusters in the third quarter, playing tremendous defense, moving the ball and not settling for isolations. They get this close to breaking through and taking the lead before...

Recap: C's comeback falls short

Pardon the super quick recap tonight, but aside from the third quarter, there wasn't a whole lot to talk about.  The Celtics came out of the box frigid, missing some makeable shots but also looking old and slow.   They found the fountain of youth in the third quarter, hitting on 11 of 19 shots and outscoring the Bulls by 11.  Mickael Pietrus' 3 with about 10 minutes...

Carmelo Anthony has a "vendetta" against Boston

"Take that Celtics!" ESPN New York: The Knicks' first-round loss to Boston last spring still stings Carmelo Anthony. "I think that's in the back of our minds," Anthony said of the Celtics' 4-0 sweep of the Knicks in the 2010 postseason. "For me personally, I was on a personal vendetta because I get tired of hearing it. We get tired of hearing...

Dime Q&A: Avery Bradley Talks Rondo, Nipsey Hussle & Celtics

On a team known for its experience – and bad knees – Avery Bradley is an anomaly. The 21-year-old combo guard is the youngest player on the Celtics’ roster. In fact, it was just three years ago that Bradley was putting up 19.1 points per game at Findlay Prep, a feat that earned him the [...]

Jason Terry: Rajon Rondo Is Only Celtics Player with Energy

Mavericks guard Jason Terry has never been shy about voicing his opinion or talking trash. Most of the time he talks before and after games, but Wednesday, he threw a jab at the Celtics during the game. While doing a halftime interview with ESPN, Terry complimented Rajon Rondo while blasting the rest of Boston’s roster. “He’s the only one with energy on their team,” Terry...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics comeback falls short… again

Loul Deng and the Bulls got the better of Rajon Rondo and the Celtics tonight in Boston Some thoughts I thought while I watched the Celtics nearly pull another game out of their asses, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t This is starting to become a trend. Celtics look sloppy in the first half, Celtics find some fire in the second half, Celtics make run, Celtics come up short when...
