The Slanch Report:
It's clear that Andrew Bynum is not a particularly intelligent person; he allows emotions to control him and that can be problematic (or dangerous if you're Jose Barea) on the basketball court. After doing something that only four other Lakers (George Mikan, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem-Abdul Jabbar and Elgin Baylor) have ever done, nabbing 30 rebounds in a single game, Bynum showed his immaturity once more. First he plays defense on and tries to steal the ball from his own teammate with six seconds remaining in the game. Why Andrew? WHY!?!
Then, in an interview immediately following the game, Bynum responds to the news that he just joined some impresive company by swearing on live tv. Still only 24, Bynum has consistently proven himself to be one of the most immature players in all of the NBA (and that's saying something.)

Andrew Bynum dropped a curse word during his interview after grabbing 30 rebounds in a Lakers win. He was upset with himself.
Andrew Bynum may have grabbed 30 rebounds in Wednesday’s win over the Spurs, but he was clearly dissatisfied with his 7-20 shooting performance. During his postgame interview on KCAL9, Bynum said he “shot like s***.”
Luckily for the Lakers Bynum’s shooting didn’t keep them from winning because they had Metta World Peace go 10-15 and 5-8 on threes. The Lakers are still...
Jason WhitneyMan, This kid will never learn. Or, maybe he likes to get under his coaches, and teammates skin which he has exceeded quite well at lately. We all thought the decking of J.J. Barea last year was a mistake by a young player. I’m starting to think this is who Andrew Bynum is. Well, maybe World Metta Peace has [...]Sports-Kings - The Kings of Sports Lists

Andrew Bynum had the most epic of games Wednesday night when he snatched 30 boards, but here is something else that was pretty epic in its own right: ANDREW TRIED TO STEAL THE BALL FROM HIS TEAMMATE TO SHOOT A THREE-BALL!?!?!?!?!?!? I can’t even translate how hard my soul is laughing right now. With 15 [...]
Elgin Baylor talks almost wistfully about the craft of rebounding, as if it's artwork that has been misplaced or a treasure trove that can't be retrieved from deep-sea waters.
He was a 6-foot-5 forward for the Lakers when he took 30 rebounds in a 1961 game against the Cincinnati Royals. He was watching on TV when Andrew Bynum grabbed an equally striking 30 rebounds Wednesday...
The type of year Andrew Bynum is having with the Lakers is the one everyone has been waiting for since he entered the league in 2005 — statistically that is. Bynum is averaging a double-double with more than 18 points and 11 rebounds per game. He has been dominant at times on the court, but it is his attitude off of it that has created major problems in Los Angeles. His former...
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Andrew Bynum had 16 points and 30 rebounds, the most in an NBA game this season, and the Los Angeles Lakers didn't need Kobe Bryant to blow out the San Antonio Spurs 98-84 Wednesday night.
Metta World Peace scored 26 points and the Lakers, playing their third straight game without the injured Bryant, manhandled the Spurs underneath to hand the West's...
Andrew Bynum has epitomized the word “Diva” as of late with his antics. Last night, in a decisive win over the Spurs, he turned heads due to his 30 rebound performance as well as his cursing on TV after the game. The real story, in my opinion, is what Bynum did at the end of [...]
Andrew Bynum is channeling some Charles Barkley in his “I do what I want” mannerisms. In a post-game interview, he said he “shot like ****” when discussing his 7-for-20 shooting night. However, his 30 rebounds vindicated his poor shooting night. Oh, and the fact Ron Artest was pure ETHER from the field and beyond the [...]
When a lot of people look at the Los Angeles Lakers, they are quick to say that Kobe Bryant is the guy that makes this team go and is also the unquestioned leader. That's hard to argue when you consider that we're talking about a guy who has five NBA championships and leads the NBA in scoring. So yes, Bryant is the guy that will hear the MVP chants, but most important player...
There’s a reason why we never quite saw this side of Andrew Bynum during the Phil Jackson era of the Lakers. It’s because Phil’s “zen” approach handles players and their egos a different way. Jackson was contacted recently to give his insight on the Bynum situation and had this to say. “Bynum is not quite [...]
No Kobe? No problem.
The Los Angeles Lakers cruised to an easy 98-84 road win Wednesday night over the San Antonio Spurs in one of the team’s most impressive outings of the season. The Lakers were led by Andrew Bynum’s career-high 30 rebounds and Metta World Peace’s 26 points.
Bynum became just one of five Lakers to reach the 30-rebound plateau, a feat that had not...
Andrew Bynum had 30 points and eight rebounds, Matt Barnes added a season-high 24 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers clinched a playoff berth without Kobe Bryant or coach Mike Brown, holding off the Denver Nuggets 103-97 Friday night.
Pau Gasol had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacific Division-leading Lakers (38-22), who have won three of four without Bryant. The NBA scoring...
