Boston has an irrational fixation with Antoine Walker. Yes, he had a few nice seasons with the Celtics, but he was also a wild chucker who twice shot under 40% for entire seasons in his prime. He also shot once 25.6% from 3 in his early years as a Celtic. He then became a journeyman who squandered his $100 million fortune… thus epitomizing just about everything that was stereotypically wrong with pro athletes, especially NBA’ers of the 90′s.
But America loves a redemption story. And as much as we can joke about ‘Toine (and I joke about him, a lot), I don’t actively root against the guy. I, like a lot of people, hope he’s learned a lesson. And maybe it’s a lesson he can impart on some younger players… because he’s open to step in to coaching some day.
“I’ll probably want to coach one day,” he said. “I don’t know what level yet. I enjoy being around the game. I love the game of basketball. It definitely will be in sports, in some capacity. Right now it’s hard to say, I

Jeff Green is the subject of today’s Summer Forecast on ESPN Boston. Here’s my take on expectations for JG:
Chuck McKenney, Red’s Army
I’m expecting a lot from Green and that’s because Danny Ainge seemingly outbid the entire NBA with the reported four-year contract valued somewhere around $32-36 million. I’m begging anyone to show me a rumor that involved another team...
Jessica Camerato, CSNNE
As a rookie on a veteran squad, Sullinger is ready to embrace his place among his teammates and contribute wherever he can. A dedicated rebounder (he averaged 10.2 boards per game last season), Sullinger is looking forward to crashing the boards and helping the team with second-chance points.
The Celtics are looking forward to him doing that as well. They...
Paul Pierce could retire today and he would be a prominent part of Boston sports lore. That may be why fans were a little startled earlier this month when the Celtics star said he would play out his current contract and examine his choices when the time came. Granted, Pierce did not say he planned to sign with another team, and there is no known contract extension on the table that...
Jared Sullinger decided to reward those of us who thought that watching the NBA Summer League for two weeks would be riveting television by revealing to us his full arsenal. He showed that his low-post moves and his ability to put the ball in the bucket were suited perfectly for the not-so-bright lights of the Summer League, a league that is notoriously filled with a few first...

Colangelo has said repeatedly this week that he'll make one more run at it, after giving Krzyzewski some time to decompress when this is all over, but sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers and San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich have indeed already moved to the top of the list to take over in 2013 for Krzyzewski, who is...
Listen to internet radio with Celtics Town on Blog Talk RadioDuring the next few weeks of the Boston Celtics offseason, Ty Ray and I will continue to co-host our King of the Court podcast sporadically. But on Monday, Sept. 3, changes will be made. We’re combining forces with CLNS Radio and will begin broadcasting weekly at 9 p.m. ET.For you listeners here at Celtics Town, the...
Sweat dripped off my hands like I’d just gone for a 17-mile run in the Sahara Desert. Kevin McHale stood on one side of the hallway chatting to Mark Jackson. I walked on the other side of the hallway hoping my knees wouldn’t crumble beneath me and cause me to fall in front of my childhood hero.It was the first Boston Celtics game I’d ever covered, and I couldn’t even get...
The NESN Trivia crew hit the hardwood for their latest episode, checking in at the New England Sports Museum inside the TD Garden to test your knowledge on the 17-time world champion Boston Celtics. Throughout their years in existence, the Celts have had mixed success, but most of those years were incredibly successful with coaches like Red Auerbach, Tom Heinsohn and Doc Rivers....

The middle finger up move means, "I'm #1" correct? Reminds me of the infamous Celtics Halloween video of 2010. In case you're wondering I believe KG got a dragon tattoo from FY INK.
