In the second quarter of the Celtics-Spurs matchup, Nenad Krstic was trailing Ray Allen on a fast break and was noted to have his right knee “buckle” requiring assistance from Ed Lacerte to go to the locker room. Nenad did not return.
Video of the incident did not look good as by all indications, the knee buckled in a manner which appeared to suggest an ACL tear and/or a torn meniscus. On the other hand, if this is just a sprain (possibly the MCL), Nenad could return in the post season depending on the severity of the sprain.
Chris Forsberg tweeted that Nenad will be returning to Boston to have an MRI on Saturday. If this is a torn ACL and/or a torn meniscus, Nenad will be lost for the season. A followup on Krstic’s injury will be forthcoming.
