Q: Was it Quentin Richardson’s decision to go for the money in Orlando instead of the veteran’s minimum with Heat, or did the Heat not want him? — Jorge.
A: The Heat wanted him, but on its terms, which would have been the minimum, with an understanding that he then could get more with his Bird Rights next summer. But when you look at it, he would have been playing behind LeBron James and Mike Miller here. In Orlando, he has a chance to replace Matt Barnes as the starting small forward. It was a prudent decision by Quentin. He served the Heat well in his one season, especially when you consider he came at the cost of Mark Blount.
Q: I think that a low-key approach the rest of the summer by LeBron, Bosh and Wade might quiet some of the detractors and allow these guys to come out strong together at the start of the season. — Dan.
