The Atlanta Hawks hired Mike Budenholzer in late May to try and help with the team’s rebuild. Last night he was arrested on dui, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
A Georgia state trooper stopped the Atlanta Hawks coach for having no tail lights. Smoky smelled the booze, administered a field sobriety test, then placed Budenholzer under arrest.
The Atlanta Hawks released this statement, signed GM Danny Ferry:
“Bud made us aware of the situation last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”
If any disciplinary action is to be taken, it will be done so at a later time. This is a very very slow news time for the NBA, so it’s about time something none Lamar Odom related has happened. We need something to talk about.
Budenholzer refused a breath test, a State Patrol spokesman said. And the Atlanta Hawks Coach was released on $1,524 bond.
