New Orleans Hornets: Austin Rivers Finally Showing Improvement

About a third of the way through the NBA season, an ESPN advanced statistics analyst, said that New Orleans Hornets’ rookie, Austin Rivers was having the worst season in NBA history and at the time he may have been right. However, over the last month he has shown steady improvement. What was most alarming, was his field goal percentages, which were laughably awful, but recently...

Rivers out with broken hand

We knew it was going to be a growing process for the New Orleans Hornets. Even having two top-ten draft picks does not guarantee you instant success. They are a young team that needs time to grow and gel together. That “gelling” process has taken a couple hits this year when top overall pick Anthony Davis has gone down with injury. Davis has missed 15 games so far this year...

Hornets guard Rivers hurts hand against Lakers

Hornets rookie guard Austin Rivers has injured his right hand during Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers and team officials say he is unable to return for the second half. Rivers, the 10th-overall pick in last June's NBA draft, had 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting in the first half, helping the Hornets building lead that grew as large as 25 points in the second...

Hornets' Austin Rivers may miss the rest of the season with broken hand

The New Orleans Hornets received some bad news yesterday.  Austin Rivers, their young shooting guard, could miss the rest of the season.  The initial projection is 4-6 weeks, but that recovery time takes Rivers so close to the end of the season that it's very possible he doesn't come back.Rivers broke his hand Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.  Rivers was seeing...

Kobe Bryant Fooled The Entire Hornets Squad On An Inbound Play

Oh, man. Leave it to the New Orleans Hornets to be the only team that make these Lakers look like a decent defensive team. Way to blow a 25 point lead late in the second half and then score only 9 points in the 4th quarter, Hornets. That will definitely be enough to hold off the Lakers. While your plan was flawed, it almost worked, until you decided to defend the wrong side of...

Lakers fake out Hornets on inbounds play, get key basket (Video)

The New Orleans Hornets blew a 25-point lead and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 108-102 Wednesday. After committing supremely idiotic plays like this one, you can’t help but say they deserved to lose. The Lakers faked out the Hornets on an inbounds play with 25.5 seconds left in the game by lining up on the side of the court they were defending, not the one they were attacking...

Kobe fools Hornets into easy dunk

Not sure what made the Hornets forget to guard Kobe Bryant, but with less than 30 seconds left in a two point ball game, Kobe squeezes through the New Orleans Hornet defenders for an easy dunk. Bryant scored 42-points in the L.A. Lakers 108-102 victory.

Lakers Trick Hornets Into Defending The Wrong Basket (Video)

The LA Lakers rallied from down 25 last night to beat the New Orleans Hornets 108-102.  Kobe Bryant dropped 42 points, and it's not often he's going to be as open as he was in the video above.  Check out the Lakers faking the Hornets players into thinking they were going at the opposite basket.  The play resulted in a wide open basket by Kobe.  If he keeps playing like...

Kobe Bryant and Jodi Meeks celebrate after a key dunk in Wednesday night’s victory over the Charlotte Hornets. (Via) The Los Angeles Lakers looked deflated in the second quarter on Wednesday night as they took on the New Orleans Hornets in New Orleans Arena.
