Carmelo Anthony has turned some heads already early in this season. At one point, he said he could not wait for free agency. Then in another he said he would be opening his rolodex to try and get other stars to New York. And then in another he was getting beat by Derrick Rose at the last second in the first national TV game for the Knicks. New York is quickly becoming the forgotten team in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks finished second in the conference last year, but by some estimations may not get home court advantage in this year's Playoffs. It is very likely they could get passed over again. And the 1-3 start that included a loss to the Bobcats on Tuesday night are not leaving Knicks fans settled. Neither is Tyson Chandler's fractured leg that will keep him out at least a month. That puts more onus on Carmelo Anthony. However, if the Knicks are going to advance far in the playoffs, Anthony needs to make his teammates more involved. That is what Charles Ba...

Carmelo Anthony says he been too passive during fourth quarters

Carmelo Anthony has never been shy about getting shots up throughout his career. He’s a great scorer who isn’t going to change at this point in his career. After last night’s game though, he said maybe he is being a too passive in the 4th quarter of games this season: “For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself as well,” Anthony said Monday after the Knicks’ practice...

New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony Scores On His Own Basket (VIDEO)

As if the New York Knicks couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start to the season, the Knicks lost to the lowly Charlotte Bobcats at home tonight. To make things worse, “superstar” Carmelo Anthony, made the bonehead play of the night. Down by 4 with under two and a half minutes to go, Melo managed to score on his own basket. It was such a pathetic play. When is #LOLKnicks going...

Carmelo Anthony admits he’s been “passive”

The New York Knicks have started the season off 1-2 through their first three games, including a tough 82-81 loss to the Chicago Bulls. A game that came down to Derrick Rose making an impossible, late-game floater to put the Knicks on ice. So far, Carmelo Anthony, has given Knicks’ faithful less than they normally expect from Melo late in games. Carmelo only has 15 points and no...

Carmelo Anthony Held Players-Only Meeting In Knicks' Locker Room

Carmelo Anthony initiated a players-only meeting after the New York Knicks' loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday, saying the team must elevate its effort and "want it more." “We shut the door after the game, talked it out a little bit,’’ Anthony said. “Try to figure out what was happening and going on. We just weren’t competing the way we know how to...

Carmelo Anthony called players-only meeting after loss to Bobcats

The New York Knicks are off to a 1-3 start this season, and they don’t appear to be handling it all that well. The Charlotte Bobcats, who were one of the NBA’s worst teams a year ago, beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. That inspired Carmelo Anthony to call a players-only […]

Carmelo Anthony Says Knicks Can’t Go to a “Dark Place”

Melo does know that JR Smith is coming back, so it might only get darker for the Knicks. Melo coming off his 32 points on 28 shots and 2 assists performance in a loss to the Bobcats had this to say. “I believe we’ll get out of this. We’ve got to remain positive. It’s easy to go into a dark place right now,” Anthony said after shooting 10-for-28 against the Bobcats. “It’s...

Bobcats-Knicks Preview

Carmelo Anthony attributes the New York Knicks' early deficits during their slump to being unsure of themselves on the offensive end of the floor, causing miscommunication that is leading to errors. They'll look to get on the same page and end a two-game slide Tuesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats, who are looking to avoid an 18th consecutive road loss. The Knicks...

Charles Barkley: Amar’e Stoudemire has ‘lost his talent’

Hall of Famer and television basketball analyst Charles Barkley says the New York Knicks are in deep trouble with Amar’e Stoudemire. Barkley made his comments on ESPN New York 98.7, a day after the Knicks lost to the Charlotte Bobcats, and on the same day the team learned that Tyson Chandler will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the right fibula. “You...

New York Knicks-Charlotte Bobcats Preview: Carmelo Anthony, Company Looking to Get on the Right Track

Photo via D. Clarke Evans/Getty Images The Knicks (1-3) are looking to avenge their latest loss, a 102-97 defeat to the Bobcats (3-2), tonight in Charlotte. New York is currently riding a three-game losing streak which very well could have been four after barely beating the Bucks on opening night. There are a lot of issues that the Knicks have to focus on this point of the season...

Knicks' worst-case scenario worse than you think

I really want to believe that the New York Knicks can’t possibly miss the playoffs in the top-heavy but still eminently shallow Eastern Conference even if the freshly injured Tyson Chandler misses a full six weeks. I want to believe it for the Knicks’ sake. I want to believe it because the mood could otherwise get really dark in one of my favorite buildings on Earth. Really...

Kenneth’s Thoughts on the Knicks Loss to the Wolves

By Kenneth Teape Minnesota Timberwolves vs. New York Knicks Post Game Recap The Knicks have no one to blame tonight other than themselves for the 109-100 loss at Madison Square Garden Sunday night. The Knicks were blitzed by the T’Wolves in the first quarter, falling behind 40-19 by the time the second quarter was starting courtesy of a 34-5. The Knicks showed some heart and fought...

Still early, but Knicks are a mess

It is the fourth game of the season, four out of 82, and logic insists — logic demands — that it is too early to pass judgment on the Knicks, too early to attach too much meaning to a three-game losing streak, too early to do much of anything. Four out of 82. This is still the overture. Only it doesn’t feel that way, does it? “We’re not getting it done right now,” Carmelo...
