It turns out that Michael Beasley needing medical treatment after the Heat's second preseason game against the Detroit Pistons was not a result of him punching himself in the head after being called for a travel. From ESPNs Michael Wallace: But Beasley, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and team officials said the wound above Beasley's right eye was the result of an inadvertent blow he took from Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko as he attempted to block a shot in the third quarter, not from a self-inflicted punch. "I watched the video, and it does look like I knocked the mess out of myself," Beasley said before Friday's preseason game against the Charlotte Bobcats at the Sprint Center. "I had everybody in the world calling me and asking, 'Why you so crazy?'" Now that's settled, we can talk about basketball. Beasley had a great game last night against the Charlotte Bobcats, scoring 13 points in just 19 minutes. At thi...

Back in Miami, Michael Beasley determined to be different

MIAMI -- Michael Beasley's first stint with the Miami Heat lasted two seasons. Not exactly the plan when a player is taken with the second overall pick in the Draft. Two things contributed to an early exit from Miami in July 2010: cap space needed to sign LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and Beasley's immaturity and penchant for off-court troubles. "My first time around...

D-Wade Won't Talk 72 Wins

The Miami Heat won 66 games last year and had a 27-game winning streak. They got even better this offseason by adding Greg Oden and Michael Beasley. So, with more teams tanking than ever because of a stacked 2014 draft, it'd be natural to start wondering if the Heat could win 72 games, which would match the win total of the record-setting '96 Bulls.
