The Los Angeles Clippers took care of business at home Monday night, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-107. Blake Griffin led the charge, recording a double-double of 25 points off of 11-of-22 shooting and 10 rebounds. Griffin had issues in the first couple games of the season with gaining post position on defenders, forcing him into difficult shots. However, he was fantastic Monday, showcasing quality back-to-the-basket post moves, catching the ball in post 6-10 feet near the hoop for easy buckets. The Clippers got the ball rolling with a 19-5 run in the second quarter of action to give them a  53-42 cushion, but the Timberwolves battled to narrow the halftime deficient to one point (59-58). The third quarter was tight throughout, with Jamal Crawford drilling a buzzer-beater Hail Mary from halfcourt to bring the score to 85-80. Crawford contributed 18 points and six rebounds, to go along with Chris Paul’s 21-point and 11-assist double-double. Blake Griffin was clutch down the stretch, draining two foul shots to put the Clippers over 109-107. The Clippers will need this consistently from him if they want to truly contend in the Western Conference.
