The problem for the Boston Celtics the last few seasons has
been the simple fact that Danny Ainge has not given the team a quality bench.
Misfits like Glen Davis, Stephan Marbury, Mikki Moore, Patrick O’Bryant, and
Nate Robinson provided both little production and cost the starters valuable
rest. The Celtics needed to find an answer to their bench woes this off season.
Celtics president Danny Ainge needed to find a guy that could be the sixth man
and provide the team with a boost of f the bench. When Glen Davis was dealt to
Orlando for Brandon Bass, Ainge got his man.
Brandon Bass was born to both be a Celtic and play for Doc Rivers. Bass is a blue collar player that punches in
for work and gives all that he has. Boston makes gods of people of this ilk. Bass
does not take plays off or stops hustling on the floor. During yesterday’s game
Bass displayed these qualities for Celtics Nation to see. Bass hustled in the
paint and got dirty grabbing 11 rebounds including some hard fought o...

Will Brandon Bass Have the Biggest Impact of Any Celtics Offseason Addition?
The trade that sent Glen Davis to Orlando was not popular among some Celtics fans, who had grown fond of Big Baby's unconventional game and attitude, but it was hard to argue with the immediate results. Brandon Bass, whom the Celtics received in return for Davis, was arguably Boston's best frontcourt player in the season opener in New York. The seventh-year forward had 20...
Brandon Bass quite a catch for bench

Leftover thoughts from Celtics-Knicks
Brandon BossNo, that wasn’t a typo. Brandon Bass = Brandon Boss. He had 20 points and 11 rebounds yesterday while shooting 9-13. But the stats alone don’t tell the story. I’m confident when Boss shoots jumpers. I’m happy when he gets aggressive (which is almost all the time). I’m thrilled that he has the athleticism to finish in traffic and not get his...
Knicks 106, Celtics 104: Celtics stumble in opener
Rajon Rondo dazzled, Otis Smith started pounding shots of whiskey after watching Brandon Bass, the Celtics took far too long to wake up, Carmelo Anthony is pretty freaking good, Kevin Garnett decided to put hands on Billy Walker’s neck after missing a jumper at the buzzer, Joey Crawford thinks he’s the reason fans buy tickets, Sasha Pavlovic is still Sasha Pavlovic, and...
Your Morning Dump... Where Celtics-Heat is a legit rivalry... or is it?
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Now, Celtics-Heat? Yeah, that's got the "R" word written all over it.
Remember, the Celtics were defending Eastern Conference champs last season, having knocked off both Dwyane Wade and...
Boston’s Debut
What looked like what was going to be a Christmas catastrophe nearly turned into a Christmas miracle today as the Celtics fell to the New York Knicks 106-104. Although the loss certainly put a damper on my Christmas spirit initially, we are Boston Celtics fans, we are intelligent fans, and we should understand that this was the first game of the season. We should also understand...
Answering The Call: An Early Look Around The NBA
The NBA started, on Christmas, what was an unbelievable set of games. First game. Celtics, aging yet gaining BRANDON BASS? Rondo plays like he’s on fire. Ray Allen can still drop 3’s, and BRANDON BASS? WOW. They can still play. Just don’t watch them any time on a back to back. Which will be a lot. Jajuan Johnson and Etwaun Moore will have their hands full trying to sub in throughout...
New York Knicks 106, Boston Celtics 104
The Celtics shot 51.3% from the floor yesterday and they outrebounded the Knicks 41-31, so they won….right? Wrong, the Knicks outscored them 27-17 in the 4th quarter to snatch a win from the Celtics. The Celtics left everything they had on the floor yesterday. Rajon Rondo led the way for the Celtics in this game with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals as he...
Recap: C's comeback falls short, Heat win 115-107
The Celtics really have to stop trying to make huge comebacks. For the second straight game, the Celtics fell behind big early, staged a furious comeback, and then fell short.
This time the Celtics didn't quite make it all the way back. They got as close as 3 points, but the Heat took advantage of more sloppy play by the C's and held on to win by 8.
The Celtics...
