Boston Celtics Jermaine O’Neal To Rehab: His Season Lives

It was announced that Jermaine O’Neal has made his decision. The decision is JO will play again in 2011. JO will avoid surgery and rehab for four weeks. This means the Celtics once again will be missing JO’s services for a while, but at least we know he is trying to play.                 JO could have packed it in and collected his pay check. Instead the man is going to rehab and then play in pain. This should show the Celtics faithful that JO is dedicated to the team and winning Banner 18. This is great news. The team does not need 20 minutes a night from JO. Perkins will be back and the team has Shaq. If JO can come in and play the great defense he brings and get some offensive rhythm, then he can give Boston some huge minutes to keep both Perkins and Shaq fresh for the playoff drive. If the matchup is right he could spell KG or Glen Davis. The bottom line is he is great depth even at 75 percent because his work load is not expected to be significant.
