Found February 22, 2013 on Celtics 24/7:
The Celtics unfortunately have dropped both games on their West Coast post All-Star Break road trip so far. While performing brilliantly at home in the TD Garden they have struggled to get W’s on the road. Hopefully, as the team gears up for a likely playoff spot this discouraging trend will not continue. The tough west coast road trip goes through Phoenix Friday night in a matchup with the Suns and then ends in Utah and Portland next week before heading home for a contest against Golden State! To start the road trip the Celtics faltered in a loss to the L.A. Lakers 113-99 after dropping to the Denver Nuggets the night before in a closer 97-90 score! The Celtics have proven that they will not quit through adversity and devastating injuries. Management must have noticed this positive trait because after many trade rumors swirled around about all players, GM Danny Ainge showed a vote of confidence in this group….keeping Pierce, Garnett, and even the injured yet coveted by other teams, Rajon Rondo. He did add Jordan Crawford in a small trade with Washington that sent away Jason Collins and Leandro Barbosa. They also acquired Terrence Williams who has already joined the team! These players should add some needed scoring and bench depth for the stretch run! All in all, it is an encouraging sign that Pierce and Garnett will be given a chance to get another banner! As “bleeding green” Kevin Garnett stated he might retire after this season, he says along with Pierce that he plans to do so as a Celtic! Let’s hope they do so with a banner this season or at least sooner rather than later!!! Go Celtics Go! Lakers fan heckles Kevin Garnett by shouting 'Kevin!' over and over again (Video)

Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett was heckled at Wednesday night's game at the Staples Center by a Los Angeles Lakers fan who simply shouted "Kevin!" over and over again. ESPN microphones picked up the fan very clearly heckling Garnett at one point during the second quarter as Dwight Howard was shooting free throws. Although not very creative on the fan'...

Jordan Crawford and Kevin Garnett nearly came to blows a couple summers back

When the Boston Celtics traded for Jordan Crawford yesterday I joked about how I didn't want Kevin Garnett to end up with a murder rap on his record after he went off on Jordan Crawford for not playing any defense (his reputation). Turns out the two almost came to blows not too far back. I actually remember this story, but it had slipped my mind. Thanks to CSNNE'S Jessica...

Fan Taunts Kevin Garnett: “Kevin..Kevin..KEVIN!”

Someone really, really wanted Kevin Garnett’s attention at Staples Center last night. In the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Lakers, a persistent fan began yelling, “Kevin…Kevin…Keeevviinnnn…KEVIN!!” He did not respond.

Video: KG has come a long way since getting blocked by Don Cheadle

Anyone remember Kevin Garnett's acting debut as Wilt Chamberlain back in 1996? All those sex scenes as Wilt must have been a bit awkward. Actually that didn't happen, but KG did play Wilt on the court. The Movie was "Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault" and it starred Don Cheadle as the lead (actually it had a pretty star studded cast. The above...

Your Morning Dump… Where KG hasn’t been the same since the 3OT game

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he could tell that the 36-year-old Garnett hasn’t been the same since a triple-overtime victory over Denver on Feb. 10. Garnett played 47 minutes in that game. The Celtics played...

Clippers pushing again for deal with Celtics

Have avoided reporting every hiccup because much is slim sourced. But hearing of a new push within the Clippers to do something w/Celts. — Steve Bulpett (@SteveBHoop) February 21, 2013 To clarify: Some people w/in Clips want to do the Celt deal. Not sure others in organization are onboard. Some internal issues here.— Steve Bulpett (@SteveBHoop) February 21, 2013 Ok, so I don...

Garnett declined Chris Paul's offer to join Clippers

Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett stayed true to his word that he would not waive his no-trade clause, and expressed his desire to retire a Celtic after Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul attempted

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett Will Not Look Back Fondly on Final Game as Celtics If Dealt at Trade Deadline

This was a tough way to go out. If the Celtics somehow trade away Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett prior to Thursday’s trade deadline, their final game in green will not be a fond memory. The Celtics’ underwhelming effort in Los Angeles on Wednesday was indicative of all their troubles without a lead guard like Rajon Rondo or a willing garbage man like Jared Sullinger. The 113-99...

Chris Paul Tried to Get Kevin Garnett to Waive His No-Trade Clause, KG Declined

Apparently, Chris Paul is in charge of the Clippers front office (he would probably be better than some of the people they have had in the past). According the Bleacher Report, CP3 tried to get KG to waive his no-trade clause so he could be dealt to LA, but KG wasn’t having it. Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald found that Chris Paul spoke to KG prior to the deadline and made...

Celtics trade Barbosa to Wizards for Jordan Crawford

As the NBA trade deadline nears, the Washington Wizards traded guard Jordan Crawford to the Boston Celtics for Leandro Barbosa, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Celtics looking for second wind

The Celtics marched into Laker-land with dead feet and tired minds. You could see from the get go that the momentum they had built prior to the all-star break was drying up faster than Kevin Garnett's resolve. We could argue and beat a dead horse about the lack of point guard play, but no one hardly speaks about the elephant in the room.  The very real need for a rugged big...

Boston Celtics vs. Portland Trail Blazers prediction and preview

Not getting easier The Portland Trail Blazers have lost seven straight games, and while the Boston Celtics aren’t what they used to be, they’re still a tough opponent for a young Rip City squad. Matchup: Portland (25-30) vs. Boston Celtics (29-26) Venue: Rose Garden  Time: 6:00 PM PT Date: Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 The playoffs are becoming less and less likely with each grueling...

Jeff Green explodes for 31 points, seven boards and five blocks

The Boston Celtics sat Kevin Garnett Saturday and still easily defeated the Phoenix Suns -- thanks to Jeff Green. The fifth-year forward dominated, making 11-of-14 shots, including three 3-pointers, for 31 points. He added a full stat line of seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and five blocks in 39 minutes. It was a dominant performance, but one that we've come to expect...

Celtics See Green-er Pastures Ahead

Kevin Garnett sat out Friday night (DNP – old and tired) and  Jeff Green finally got his chance to start. Doing the best KG impression he could muster, he tore up Los Suns with a season-high 31 points and added 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocks. Oh, hello there! What did you say your name was? I don’t believe we’ve met. They traded you for who–Kendrick Perkins...

Report: Boston Celtics Acquire Jordan Crawford From Washington Wizards

It’s not a trade involving Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce, but it’s still worth talking. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Boston Celtics have dealt Leandro Barbosa’s expiring contract for Jordan Crawford. This deal originally involved Fab Melo, but the C’s persuaded Washington. Celtics will send the Leandro Barbosa expiring contract to the Wizards for Jordan...
