TEAMS: Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics came into this week on a poor note. They had lost four consecutive games. Coming into this week, Boston was trying to turn it around. The Celtics would play 4 games, so let’s take an inside look at all of them. On Monday, March 31st, the Celtics would travel to Chicago to face the Bulls for a second game in a row. The game would go back-and-forth throughout until the 4th when the Celtics would breakdown offensively and only score 10 in the quarter. The Bulls would pull away and win 94-80. Mike Dunleavy led all scorers with 22 which included a 50% 3-point field goal percentage, going three for six. Jerryd Bayless and Brandon Bass would both add in 18 points in the loss. Rajon Rondo did not play. On Wednesday, April 2nd, the Wizards would welcome the Celtics into Washington. The game would be close until the third quarter in which Washington would double up the Celtics 32-16 and then end up winning 118-92. The Wizards would clinch a playoff spot with this win. All Wizards starters would score in the double digits led by center Marcin Gortat who had 22 points and 8 rebounds. Jared Sullinger led all scorers with 25 points. On Friday, April 4th, the Celtics would travel back home to host the struggling Philadelphia 76ers. The game would be close come halftime, but the Sixers would pull away in the second half and defeat Boston 111-102. The center for Philadelphia, Henry Sims, would record career highs in points and rebounds with 24 and 9. He also made 14 of his 18 free throw attempts. Michael Carter-Williams would also tally in 24 points in the win. Rajon Rondo finally recorded his first triple-double with 11 points, 16 assists, and 11 rebounds. On Saturday, April 5th, the Detroit Pistons would welcome the Celtics into the Palace. In this one, Boston would surmount a 19-point lead in the third quarter, but the Pistons would rally back and end up beating the Celtics in a close one, 115-111. Pistons center Andre Drummond would once again look impressive against Boston with 19 points and 20 boards. Greg Monroe would tally in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Rodney Stuckey led all scorers with 26 off the bench. Three Celtics starters would score 20-plus in the loss. Jerryd Bayless led Boston with 25 points, followed by Jeff Green with 23 and Jared Sullinger with 22 points and 10 boards. The Boston Celtics now sit at a record of 23-54 and are currently riding an eight-game losing streak which puts them in sole position of the 4th worst team in the NBA. Boston looks to get off the snide in Atlanta on Wednesday with five games remaining. The post Boston Celtics lose 8th straight appeared first on isportsweb.

Rajon Rondo Trade Scenarios for the Boston Celtics

Rajon Rondo is still with the Boston Celtics…for now.  But will he be in a few months? Who knows? And don’t we ask this all the time?   Here’s something you see quite frequently: The words “Rajon Rondo” “Boston Celtics” and “trade” all mentioned in the same breath. For one, I have never truly been opposed to it.  Heck, a little more than twelve months ago I argued...

Your Morning Dump… Where Jared Sullinger wants to play in the summer league

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Sullinger’s summer could be critical to his long-term development. The Celtics would like to see the burly power forward work himself into premium shape and work on his perimeter game. Sullinger said he has heard...

Stevens leaves decision to Rondo for last back-to-back of the season

Rajon Rondo has sat out every second game of a back-to-back after returning from a torn ACL in January. I say keep that going Rondo. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if he sits out the last one of the season. There is no need for Rondo to press at this point .ESPN BostonThe Celtics host Charlotte on Friday, but could Rondo give Saturday a go as well? "I do think he’s getting...

Recap: Celtics start hot, finish frigid in Detroit

The Celtics came out of the gate in blazing fashion tonight. Layups, jumpers & treys all fell at a dizzying rate. Well..dizzying for this squad anyway. Behind a combined 27 points from Sully, Green & Bass, Boston opened up a 32-29 lead against the Pistons after one quarter. Defense was definitely not the theme tonight in Detroit, as the Celtics shot 60% in the 1st and the...

Sullinger wants to go to Summer Camp... or Summer League

Sullinger wants to play in the summer league but will have a conversation with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge about whether the team wants him to participate. Celtics Fans Have Not Turned Backs On Team, Despite Rebuilding Pains

BOSTON — “Man, it must be cool to be in this type of environment every night.” On Friday night, the Boston Celtics, who are bad, played the Philadelphia 76ers, who are even more bad, and not in the cool, Shaft-kind of way, either. Sitting in an almost-full TD Garden that would eventually fill to its full 18,624 capacity, a Philly beat reporter couldn’t help but remark in...

Celtics blow lead and fall to Pistons 111-115

The Celts came out of the gates hot and were able to maintain a ten point lead for three quarters. At one point, Boston led by as much as 19. Despite some great ball movement throughout the game, Boston had no answer for Detroit's paint dominance and fourth quarter surge. In the absence of Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger took the leadership reigns and was absolutely dominant, finishing...

Wiggins Watch: Celtics tank barrels over competition, predicted to take Embiid in latest mock

Five more games. Five more times rooting against the Celtics before not doing it again for (hopefully) a really long time. It has been a long, difficult season, but the light at the end of the tunnel is appearing. Five games left, and then we get to enjoy the playoffs as bystanders (not the way we want to enjoy them, but it's fun not to have every game be life or death) before...

Remember that time Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry ratted out Rondo and got him suspended? Well, if you forgot, then maybe Rondo hasn't. Or maybe it's just because he wants to win, either way he wants to crush the playoff dreams of the Hawks.Rondo on playing spoiler: "Hopefully we can mess up Atlanta’s record a little bit more tomorrow & knock those guys out of the...
