Perhaps Danny Ainge is looking for a shooting guard or a center, since the Celtics more or less don’t have a backup at either position. I’d still like Boston to pursue another small forward — read my post about the need for Marquis Daniels to remain healthy — but at this point Posey might not be as productive as Sasha Pavlovic (*dodges full beer thrown by Celtics fan*). And I consider Pavlovic one of the NBA’s worst small forwards. There just aren’t a lot of quality players still available. Maybe Danny Ainge finds a diamond in the rough. Or maybe Boston enters the season with the depth chart the same as it was yesterday against the Toronto Raptors.

With a NBA.com streamed scrimmage already in the books and an exhibition season debut on tap, the Celtics are being thrust head first into what is already a challenging 2012 NBA season. No salary break for Celtics
Because the Celtics are a luxury-tax team, they do not receive salary-cap breaks with Jeff Green’s contract voided, meaning Danny Ainge has only minimum contracts to upgrade the roster.
Jeff Green’s Health a Major Concern for Boston Celtics
Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge is still hearing criticisms about the deal that sent Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Jeff Green at last season’s trade deadline.
While not having Perkins’ big body impacted the Celtics’ chances in the postseason last year, not having Green could impact their chances this season.
Green is still not practicing...
