The Celtics might have played their ugliest game of the season tonight, but winning ugly is what Boston does best.To say the Celtics are beat up would be a gross understatement. Less than three weeks ago the Celtics lost their All-Star point guard to a torn ACL, gone for the remainder of the season. He was joined shortly afterwards by rookie Jared Sullinger, and just this past Monday by Leandro Barbosa. “This ride has been mentally draining for us, losing guy after guy,” Jason Terry said after tonight’s game against Chicago. It’s been physically draining too; even the “healthy” Celtics are injured, like Paul Pierce who’s been playing through a pinched nerve in his neck for two months. But on the eve of All-Star Weekend with two minutes left in the game, Kevin Garnett was still able to dig deep and battle for a lose ball on the Garden floor. Paul Pierce’s free-throws found the bottom of the net, and as time ran out it was Jason Terry who sealed the victory with a game-winning block. The Celtics fell behind after shooting 20% in the second and third quarters, but turned it around in the fourth (during which they shot 69%) and found a way to win. The Celtics are 8-1 since Rondo went down, propelled forward by a lot of grit and a little bit of luck. The Celtics will head into the All-Star break four games above .500, soon to be bolstered by ten-day contracts and a trade deadline that should bring relief in one form or another. In six days they’ll head to Denver for a rematch of Monday’s thriller, but until then they’ll enjoy some well-deserved rest.Follow Jordan on Twitter: @OffensiveG

BOSTON — Jared Sullinger is spending his days lounging around, and it is terrible.
The rookie forward made an appearance at TD Garden on Wednesday and expounded on his recovery from back surgery, which he underwent two weeks ago. Upbeat but clearly itching to play, Sullinger described a recovery that, so far, seems pretty boring.
Sullinger cannot work out or engage in any physical...
Jason Terry‘s last shot told the whole story. With the Celtics up by four and Terry seemingly heating up with two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter already, the veteran sharpshooter let loose a long-range shot that might have put the nail in the Bobcats’ coffin. The other four guys in green jerseys turned to jog back down the court, anticipating another flight for the Jet.
Paul Pierce plans to rest during the All-Star break.
Forget about the shroud of uncertainty surrounding the Boston Celtics thanks to trade rumors and injury concerns circulating this season. It seems as though the veteran ball club has done everything in their power to stave off the doubt and not only maintain their legitimacy in the Eastern Conference, but improve their NBA odds in the process.

As of late, the injury gods have not been kind to the Celtics. First Rajon Rondo is gone for the season with a torn ACL along with Jared Sullinger who has a bad back and needs surgery. Now, less than a month later it’s Leandro Barbosa, also with a torn ACL, and Paul Pierce with a pinched nerve.
Luckily, these injuries have not seemed to heavily impact the success of the team so...
Tonight, the Celtics won a fun game over the Bulls 71-69. Brandon Bass led the Celtics with 14 in what was perhaps his best game of the year. It was nice to see him finally start scoring. This is the way the Celtics work; when one guy goes down, someone else steps up. It looks like Bass may be filling Barbosa's void.
Tonight's USOTN goes to the 3-point shooting of Jason...
Boy, the Boston Celtics just can’t catch a break this year.
They win six games in a row… only to lose their next six. They lose Rajon Rondo for the rest of the season… only to lose Jared Sullinger two games later. They run off a surprising seven-game win streak, beating the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets… only to have it snapped by the cellar-dwelling...
One more game left, until the well rested break. The Boston Celtics finish the first half of the season, trying to get revenge on a Bulls team that beat us by a lucky shot by Marco Belinelli. But my point of this article is not about that game, but it is for the Celtics to rest up and get ready for the crazy second half of the season.
We are so many players down, I have lost track...

Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger, and now Leandro Barbosa will miss the rest of the 2012-13 season after losing his footing on a stopping motion towards the basket during Monday’s loss 94-91.
Kevin Garnett reported to CSNNE’s A. Sherrod Blakely that they received news that Barbosa will not play again in this season.

Here’s a short profile of my man Ricas from Canton, Mississippi. After the all-star break, we’ll have another edition of “Celebrity Fan Friday“..
Ricas grew up in the 1980′s, so he is a big fan of the Bird, McHale & Parish era:
I’ve been a Celtics fan since I was 11 years old. Growing-up, I remember watching Larry Bird and Magic battle for supremacy in the 80′s...
With the number of injuries the Celtics have suffered this season and the inconsistency they have shown, the first half of the season hasn’t always been pretty.
After losing Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger and Leandro Barbosa all to season-ending injuries within three weeks of each other, the Celtics were forced to regroup and show that they can still find ways to win — and so far...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Kevin Garnett said last night that his 14th All-Star Game appearance on Sunday in Houston will also be his last, though the Celtics forward stopped short of saying he was retiring at the end of the season.
Defense ruled the day, but it was Boston's offense that sealed the game down the stretch. In last night’s nail-biter against Chicago, points were predictably at a premium between two very talented, very defense-oriented teams. So when the Celtics were able to produce field goals on three consecutive possessions late in the fourth quarter, giving themselves a lead they would...
