Found August 16, 2012 on Celtics 24/7:

It was a great year for the 2012 Boston Celtics team. With their backs against the wall multiple times during the season they fought hard and came up just one game short against the eventual NBA champion Miami Heat. With key injuries to players like Jeff Green, Chris Wilcox and Avery Bradley during the playoffs, some thought the Celtics wouldn’t make it past the second round.

Like we have seen so many times before they showed exactly how much Celtics Pride they had and nearly met in the finals for the 3rd time since 2008. This off-season has been full of moves. We watched Steve Nash and Dwight Howard head to Los Angeles and the Celtics finally broke up the big three as Ray Allen will be playing for the rival Heat next season.

Instead of looking at the negatives of last year let’s look at some of the top plays. It was one of the most exciting seasons in Celtics history and these plays show why. Will the Celtics beat the Heat next year and make another finals appearance? It’s definitely possible with this new and improved roster. The odds may or may not be with them according to many of the best online sportsbook, but if there is one thing we have learned it’s to never count the Celtics out!

No one really knows what to expect from Jeff Green

Jeff Green is the subject of today’s Summer Forecast on ESPN Boston. Here’s my take on expectations for JG: Chuck McKenney, Red’s Army I’m expecting a lot from Green and that’s because Danny Ainge seemingly outbid the entire NBA with the reported four-year contract valued somewhere around $32-36 million. I’m begging anyone to show me a rumor that involved another team...

Your Morning Dump… Where Paul Pierce is the league’s best post player

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  All hail Paul Pierce, the only player to rank in the top five in both seasons. Jared Sullinger thinks he can help rebounding woes

Jessica Camerato, CSNNE As a rookie on a veteran squad, Sullinger is ready to embrace his place among his teammates and contribute wherever he can. A dedicated rebounder (he averaged 10.2 boards per game last season), Sullinger is looking forward to crashing the boards and helping the team with second-chance points. The Celtics are looking forward to him doing that as well. They...

Jason Terry hopes Celtics tattoo will bring championship luck

When Jason Terry showed off his new Boston Celtics-themed championship tattoo over the weekend, we assumed he got the new ink in hopes of repeating history. In an interview with Celtics.com reporter Molly McGrath, he confirmed that was the case. “I did it with the Mavericks before the season the year we won it,” Terry said. “So hopefully this year we’ll have the luck of...

Chris Andersen Intriguing Option for Celtics, Worry Over Paul Pierce Retiring Elsewhere Overblown

Paul Pierce could retire today and he would be a prominent part of Boston sports lore. That may be why fans were a little startled earlier this month when the Celtics star said he would play out his current contract and examine his choices when the time came. Granted, Pierce did not say he planned to sign with another team, and there is no known contract extension on the table that...

Jared Sullinger understands his role with the Boston Celtics

Jared Sullinger decided to reward those of us who thought that watching the NBA Summer League for two weeks would be riveting television by revealing to us his full arsenal. He showed that his low-post moves and his ability to put the ball in the bucket were suited perfectly for the not-so-bright lights of the Summer League, a league that is notoriously filled with a few first...

Bob Ryan’s retiring from his full-time position with the Boston Globe: My own Bob Ryan story

Sweat dripped off my hands like I’d just gone for a 17-mile run in the Sahara Desert. Kevin McHale stood on one side of the hallway chatting to Mark Jackson.
