Found June 07, 2012 on Online Sports Guys:
((ht: espnboston)) And we now have even further proof that politicians don't live in the same universe that the rest of us do. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is either really confused or doesn't have someone in his ear to tell him the proper names he is supposed to be talking about. And in a Sports crazed town like Boston, we are guessing that this isn't going to go over very well, though it is kind of funny. In the video, Menino is asked about the Boston Celtics, in his answer, he talks about KJ and Hondo. And while Kevin Johnson and John Hondo Havlicek both did play in the NBA and Havlicek actually did play for the Celtics, we think he's trying to refer to Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo. And according to ESPN Boston, this is nowhere near the 1st time he's butchered his local Sports heroes. Read that story RIGHT HERE Okay, yeah, the argument can be made we are all being too tough on the guy. But we don't think so. Sure, we know a "City Lead...

Mayor apologizes for name gaffes

Boston mayor Thomas Menino issued an apology on Twitter for mistakenly referring to Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo as "KJ" and "Hondo."

Garnett Leads the Celtics to victory

Kevin Garnett may be 36 years old but he still plays with the same fire and passion that he did as a rookie. Garnett was unstoppable in the Boston Celtics game 5 win over the Miami Heat 94 to 90. There is no question that Garnett is the leader of this team. Garnett finished the game with 26 points and made a pair of free throws with 8 seconds left to seal the victory...

Boston mayor mistakenly refers to Garnett and Rondo as "K.J" and "Hondo" (Video)

Boston Celtics stars Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo are two of the team's best-known players and have been given tons of credit for leading the Celtics to a 3-2 series lead in the NBA Eastern Conference finals. However, the mayor of Boston had trouble remembering their names during a television interview Wednesday. Mayor Thomas Menino, the longest serving mayor in Boston...

QuickVid: Doc & Rondo Praise Fans While LeBron Reviews 45 Point Game 6

Doc Rivers told his Celtics to pack suits for the rest of the week, implying his team is not considering any other outcome but winning Saturday’s Game 7. Rajon Rondo told CLNS that the Celtics fans are the best in all of sports after losing Game 6. Dwyane Wade talked to CLNS about staying ready [...]

Reliving KG's craziest moments

Earlier this year, Complex.com published video clips of Kevin Garnett's 15 Craziest Moments. With KG dominating the 2012 NBA playoffs in ways only he can, I figure it's a good time to relive the insanity. The video above is Rajon Rondo's reaction to hearing Garnett's screams from the next room. It's #15 on the list and its priceless. Here's the other...

Tonight, Make it a Rondo Bomb

Most of my posts on CelticsLife are rather lengthy and in-depth. My most recent one; Patience is a Heavenly Green Virtue, got heavy and included a biblical quote. I wanted to be a bit more light-hearted and fun by posting a nice new recipe for this evening's fesitivities, the Rondo Bomb. Whether you are heading out to a local watering hole to check out game six or you are enjoying...

2012 NBA Playoffs: Kevin Garnett Dunks On James Jones (Eastern Conference Finals - Game 5)

Celtics Beat Heat 94-90 in Game 5

The Boston Celtics are one game away from reaching the NBA Finals after beating the Miami Heat 94-90 in Game 5. The Celtics have won three straight games after being down 2-0 to the Heat and have a chance to end the series in Boston for Game 6. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics in points with 26 and rebounds with 11.  Rajon Rondo, who has been sensational for Boston finished with 13...

Boston Mayor Praises Great Play By ‘KJ and Hondo’

Mayor Thomas Menino, who is the longest-serving Boston Mayor in history, really did stay up a bit too late watching the Celtics beat the Heat in Game 5. The Mayor gets asked a few questions on the Celtics and what he thinks are the keys to their success. Mr. menino does a great job at responding initially in vague terms, but when he tries to single out Kevin Garnett and Rajon...

Erik Spoelstra 'Couldn't Care Less' About Rajon Rondo's Critical Comments

Rajon Rondo's critical comments at halftime of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals had the potential to rile up the Heat, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Instead, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra downplayed Rondo's comments, calling it "normal playoff chatter." Rondo was interviewed by ESPN's Doris Burke during halftime of Sunday's Game 4...

Paul Pierce Felt Confident in Late Three-Pointer, Rajon Rondo Just Pleased to Get Big Win (Video)

Paul Pierce received the ball with under a minute to go and some room to breath in front of the 3-point line. The Celtics captain didn't bother pump faking or even attempting to drive to the hoop, as he was as confident as ever that he could seal a colossal Game 5 win with one stroke of the netting. Pierce sunk the clutch 3-pointer with :52 seconds to play in Tuesday night'...

Celtics win the craziest F'ing playoff game I've ever seen, 1 win from returning to Finals

Do you know what just happened?  Does anyone? I'll repeat what I said on Twitter earlier during the game.  I've never seen a team so close in a basketball game but teeter so close to total collapse like the Celtics did all night.  They had a million chances to fold, and it looked like they'd take about 900,000 of them at various points.  The most egregious loss...

Forget the Heat, Celtics are the Real Story

Take a trip back to February 22nd. The Boston Celtics had a record of 15-17, were almost out of the playoff picture, and were on a five game losing streak. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett all were being tagged with the “washed up” label, and the story around this team was whether or not it was time to move forward and start a new era of C’s basketball at the trade...

Heat - Celtics Game Six Top 40 Takeaways

40) LeBron James has got your post game right here 39) Rajon Rondo had one assist in the first quarter, and seven turnovers on the night, so this must have been all his fault 38) James is entirely to blame for this game being devoid of drama, which is one more reason to hate him, I guess 37) You could watch a lot of games without seeing Paul Pierce look more feeble than tonight...

Patience is a Heavenly Green Virtue

Athletic competition has become almost devoid of true patience. Basketball, in particular is generally a rampage of emotion and speed that can be quite overwhelming. Patience has become a lost art in the world of sports. It is the most important of the seven heavenly virtues. Patience is said to specifically oppose the vice of wrath. However, this is not something that is an exact...
