After a bit of back and forth I have decided that it is best that I do Box of Ziti’s by myself, since the logistic (just ask what Brown can do for you I guess) of getting the games from the others is not so easy to then put them into a post. So, with the beginning of Major League Baseball, I figured this would be the perfect time to start back up, but before I do here is the usual disclaimer…

Disclaimer: This daily post, done by an italian guy (that is why the name) is exclusively for entertainment purpose only. I do NOT gamble and I am NOT associated with any gambling entities, be it online or not. This is just for fun to pass the time waiting for NCAA FB and NCAA BB to come back!

For now here are the picks for today, April 4, 2012, with four games on tap in the NBA…

The first game has the NY Knicks (27-27) vs the Orlando Magic (32-22), with the home squad being a 3.5 points favorite. While I think this should be a lot closer game than the records might indicate, in part due to the mess that the Magic head coach and super star are in, I will still give the points and take Orlando in this one.

The next game with the Washington Wizards (12-42) playing the Detroit Pistons (20-33), the home squad giving 8 points in this one. With both teams out of the playoffs, and for all that I can see, out of the loop for quite sometimes, this is more about what the home vs road records can be. The Wizs are 5 and 21 when traveling while the Pistons are above .500 (14-12) at home. The eight points are a lot, but I will give them and take the Pistons.

The second to last game has the Boston Celtics (30-23) going to the windy city to take on the Eastern Conference leader Chicago Bulls (42-13). The home squad are a 7 points favorite in this one, which means a ton to both squads. The C’s need this game to show the NBA that this squad can still be one to contend with when the post season comes and to grab a firmer hold on the Atlantic. The Bulls need to win this one since they do not want to lose out on home court advantage when the playoffs come. While I believe that the home squad will win this one, I am not so sure they will cover, so I will take the Celtics and the points.

Finally, the last game of the night with the LA Clippers (32-22) vs the Sacramento Kings (19-35), with the visiting team being a 2.5 points favorite. Probably the one game where I think that the spread is smaller than it should be, since the Clippers are 12-13 on the road while the Kings just 14-13 at home, and the talent does favor the team from tinsel town. So, in this one I will give the points and go with the Clippers.

And two games in MLB…

The first game it’s the Miami Marlins (0-1) playing the Cincinnati Reds (0-0), with the home squad being 1.3 to 1 on this one. I will take those odds and go with the Reds in their first game of the 2012 season.

The other game for the day is the Los Angeles Dodgers (0-0) vs the San Diego Padres (0-0), with the away squad being a 1.4 to 1 favorite. Once again, with the season just under way I will take the favorite Dodgers in their first game of the year.
