Whether you believe the Indiana Pacers are for real or not, the fact is right now the Pacers are the 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. With the Cavaliers playing the 2nd night of a back to back, this was sure to be a tough challenge for the young Cavs team.

The Cavaliers came out and showed tremendous fight in this game. For most of the contest, this was a closely contested game. In the 4th quarter the Cavaliers went on an 18-1 run to break open a lead, only to go almost 4 minutes without scoring allowing the Pacers to take what seemed like the lead for good.

But the Pacers’ George Hill missed 3 of 4 free throws late to open the door, and Lester Hudson took full advantage, knocking down a floater with 1.2 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Unfortunately the Pacers were just too strong in overtime and the Cavaliers, at the end of the day, just weren’t good enough in this game to pull out the win.

Hudson wasn’t able to find his outside shot in this game, but still managed to score 19 points. Antawn Jamison lead the Cavaliers with 21 points and Samardo Samuels chipped in 13 off the bench, but the Cavaliers couldn’t find enough scoring outside those 3 players to steal a win from the Pacers. This is the kind of loss you can live with, though. Much better than the 25 point blowouts of last week.

Hudson bringing life to Cavs

CLEVELAND -- Random observations from the Cavaliers 103-90 win over Charlotte on Tuesday at The Q: 1. Lester Hudson. Those are two words Cavs fans are saying with an exclamation point after watching the 6-foot-3 guard total 51 points in his previous two games. That included a game-high 25 points against the awful Bobcats. 2. What makes this more impressive is how Hudson has done...

Hudson’s Leaving His Mark In Cleveland

There’s something about an unsung hero that makes winning extremely satisfying. Maybe it’s the surprise of it all. Maybe it’s the out-of-the-blue extraordinary performances that are displayed by the unexpected—for a team that’s unexpected. Allowing these unsung heroes to prove themselves is the only pot that the Cleveland Cavaliers can really pick from these days since...

Twitter Q+A with Lester Hudson #AskLester

I will be doing an interactive Twitter Q+A using questions from #Cavs fans later on tonight with Cavaliers phenom Lester Hudson, so tweet @ me a good question to #AskLester and I will ask him. Try to to make the question something you don't think people will already be asking him, use a little creativity, and if it's a solid question I will ask him and use it in the Q+A that...

Box Score: Bobcats 90, Cavaliers 103

Maybe there’s something to this whole Lesanity thing after all? The Cavaliers took a lead into halftime, then came out cold in the 2nd half and saw the Bobcats come back and take the lead. From there, Lester Hudson took over. With Cavs owner Dan Gilbert sitting in with Fred and AC in the TV broadcast, Lester once again showed his boss why he belongs on the Cavaliers roster. Hudson...

Evidence of 'punch' that injured Cavs mascot

Pacers forward David West accidentally put Cleveland Cavaliers mascot “Moondog” in the hospital with a playful pregame punch Wednesday night. “He jumped at me, and I thought we were playing around. Next thing I know he went down,” West said after the game. “It was definitely an accident.” “I felt terrible about that. I really do,” West said. “We were just having...

Indiana Pacers postseason: how far can they go?

With superstars and “super-teams” now taking over the NBA, the Pacers current third-place position in the Eastern Conference is starting to make people think if a team with only one all-star, and not one nationally known as a superstar, can make a deep run in the NBA Playoffs. Guest post from Collin O’Connor The Pacers do, perhaps, carry the deepest roster in the league as...

Cleveland.com: On Cavs 2012 Draft and Accelerating the Oklahoma City Model

I wrote an article for Cleveland.com earlier today highlighting the fact that the Cavaliers are in a position to use only two drafts in order to acquire the same number of core pieces that the Oklahoma City Thunder did in three.  Here is a link to that article, and below is an excerpt: They followed the Durant pick by selected Russell Westbook and Serge Ibaka 4th and 24th overall...

Cavaliers-Pacers Preview

Darren Collison should be back in the Indiana Pacers' lineup after a two-game absence, but Frank Vogel may want to make sure George Hill gets plenty of minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hill has shined in a pair of starts with Collison out, something the Cavaliers are well aware of heading into Friday's conclusion of a home-and-home set at Bankers Life Fieldhouse...

Pacers-Cavaliers Preview

Though the Indiana Pacers are firmly entrenched in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, they will not look ahead to the postseason. The Pacers hope to continue their April success by trying for a third consecutive road victory Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Indiana (35-22) concluded March by losing two of three, but won four in a row to begin April and five...

Cavs Report: Hudson takes long way to NBA

Lester Hudsons road to the Cavaliers was hardly paved with gold. Hot coals and bare feet would be more like it. From about the time he hit college, the odds were against Hudson in the NBA. Or at least, against Hudson having made the impact he has for the Cavs so far. Hudson is a native of Memphis and began his college career at something called Southwest Tennessee Community College...

Where’s Lester Hudson’s “Linsanity?”

On February 6, the shorthanded New York Knicks topped the Utah Jazz at home. The team’s two best players were inactive, dealing with various issues ranging from personal to health. The hero of the day — and subsequent weeks — was a hardwood vagabond, a scrappy guard who had been bounced from multiple NBA franchises, left to trudge through the murk and muck of the NBDL. Jeremy...

Hudson leads Cavaliers past Bobcats

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Lester Hudson scored 25 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Charlotte Bobcats 103-90 on Tuesday night. Anthony Parker, who missed the two previous games with a bruised sternum, scored 19 points while Antawn Jamison added 17 for Cleveland. Gerald Henderson led Charlotte with 21 points. Rookie Kemba Walker scored 20 while...
