Found April 24, 2013 on Celtics Life:
PLAYERS: Avery Bradley
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Avery Bradley was the only #Celtics to receive Defensive Player of the Year votes: 2 1st, 1 2nd, 2 3rd. Finished 12th overall. #CelticsTalk — Jessica Camerato (@JCameratoNBA) April 24, 2013 No surprise here. In his third season, Bradley has quickly become one of the NBA's elite perimeter defenders. Bradley will definitely receive DPoY consideration and acknowledgment year after year. He can only get better as his career goes forward.

Jeff Green wants to do it all

“I’ve just got to do it,” Green said before the team’s morning shootaround at Madison Square Garden. “I’ve just go to play through the fatigue. I’ve got to continue to look for mine, basically. There’s no excuses now. I want to be out there, I want to compete. I want to play against the best, I want to guard Carmelo, I want to do it all. It’s just something I...

Your Morning Dump… Where Jordan Crawford could get more minutes tonight

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I thought he was good,” Rivers said. “He stayed in his lane, let’s put it that way. He didn’t go outside of it. Usually guys in their first [playoff] game, they do one or the other. Some guys don’t...

Is Doc Rivers making the right choices with his guards off the bench?

In Tuesday's Game 2 loss, Courtney Lee was on the floor for just 4 minutes.  Fellow reserve guards Jason Terry (34 min) and Jordan Crawford (25) were the only Celtics bench players to get any significant court time.  The Metro West Daily News' Scott Souza sent this tweet today from Celtics practice: #Celtics coach Doc Rivers: Courtney Lee is not playing right now. Jordan...

The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation has committed to raising $200,000.00 to benefit the victims and injured of the Boston Marathon Bombings. In an official press release from the Boston Celtics, they said: “Our Celtics family and our fans join all Bostonians in demonstrating our city’s great strength by coming together to stand as one to get through this difficult time ,...

Celtics Seeking Revenge in Game 2

After the sloppy play featured in the second half of the series opener, Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics will look to redeem themselves in Game 2 this evening at MSG. Turnovers plagued the Celtics late in Game 1 but the atrocious efforts put forth by the bench are what ultimately did them in. While Carmelo Anthony led the way with 36 points, it was the New York Knicks bench that...

Hip pointer won’t keep KG out of Game 3

Doc Rivers says Kevin Garnett suffered a hip pointer in Game 2 against the Knicks. See the video evidence above. The injury will not prevent KG from practicing or playing in Game 3. Shocking. As for why Jordan Crawford is playing significant minutes over Courtney Lee, Doc said: “I think offensively he gives you a better shot at it.” On the team’s effort: At the end of the day...

Can the Celtics offense succeed by running more?

When Boston posted just 25 points in the second half of Saturday's 85-78 Game 1 loss, it brought to life my (and pretty much everyone else's) concerns about the C's playoff offense without Rajon Rondo.  Lacking a true point guard they need to find more ways to create scoring opportunities, and the simplest way to do that is to run.  Said Paul Pierce on Monday (via Gary...

Last year's Eastern Conference Finals were far from over when the Celtics fell behind 0-2 in Miami

On May 30th of last year Rajon Rondo played the game of his life.  But it wasn't enough, and the Celtics lost Game 2 of the Conference Finals to the Heat, 115-111 in OT.  That put the C's in an 0-2 hole heading back to Boston.  I'll be the first to admit, I had given up.  After watching one of the greatest individual performances I'd ever seen come up just short...

Rivers: Garnett (hip) will play Game 3 vs Knicks

Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says Kevin Garnett has a hip injury but it won't keep him out of Game 3 of their playoff series against the New York Knicks. Rivers says Garnett's hip was bothering him during Tuesday night's 87-71 loss to the Knicks. The victory gave New York a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. The series resumes in Boston on Friday night. And Rivers...

Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics are old, slow and defensively deficient?

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “In the second half, no one did anything for us,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers deadpanned. “They threw a knockout punch. Several.” Rivers didn’t fail to add: “I thought the fouls on [Garnett] were horrendous...

Playoff Playbook: Game 2 vs. New York

Boston's need for a rim protector is becoming more and more blatantly obvious. This is the second in a (hopefully) long series of posts detailing Boston’s in-game sets and adjustments during the playoffs, featuring a positive and a negative from each game.Positive: Hand-off plays sparking penetrationOk, so by “hand-off plays sparking penetration,” I meant to say it in the...

Doc Rivrs fined $25,000 for criticizing referees

Tweet The NBA doesn’t take too kindly to their officials being criticized publicly, and for that reason the league has hit Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers with a $25,000 fine for his comments on some calls against Kevin Garnett Tuesday night against the Knicks. Here’s what Doc had to say that cost him $25k, [...]

Live Game Updates - Game 2

8:40: With one minute left in the first quarter tonight, the Celtics led 20-17. But now, after the first buzzer has gone off, they somehow trail 26-20. It takes a lot of effort just to do that bad. They better have a big run to open the second or else they'll be in a lot of trouble. That was absolutely ridiculous.
