Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy has had more than his fair share of knee surgeries (seven to be exact) throughout his career. With fellow teammate Ricky Rubio currently recovering from his own, Roy figured he'd give him some advice that he gathered from his multitude of rehabs. Ray Richardson of Twin Cities quotes Brandon Roy from practices."Watching him work out that day, I was saying he looks pretty close to coming back," Roy said after completing one of his own workouts Thursday at Target Center. "You can tell Ricky is such a competitor. I just told him to be patient with it, not just during the rehab but even when he comes back and starts playing. I told him he can't get down on himself. There will be times when you feel it's not there, but it will come ... then you'll start kicking down those doors."Ricky Rubio does not have a set time for his return, but Roy through his experiences and observations thinks he should be back soon. He noted that Rubio's "sliding and cutting pretty good", an indication for significant progress during his rehab.Rubio, drafted fifth in the 2009 NBA Draft, has given hope to a Timberwolves franchise during his fantastic rookie season. Pre-injury he was a candidate for Rookie of the Year by showing his impressive court vision, ball-handling, and making nifty passes all over the court. In his first season he dropped 10.2 points a game and 8.2 assists per game while shooting from a clip of 80.3% from the free throw line. The Timberwolves have been the team plagued by injuries this season and Rubio's return could help them push to become a threatening playoff team. But for now, Rubio and the fans have to be, as Roy said, patient.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
