The last image of Brandon Rush in a Warriors jersey could have been of him being carried to the locker room after tearing his ACL in the second game of this season. Rush had a player option for next season. That lingering subplot to the Warriors’ offseason plans obviously was overshadowed by the impending free agency of two other players actually active on the team — Carl Landry and Jarrett Jack. Hell, a lot of people might not have even remembered Rush was even on the Warriors this year. He blew up his left knee, Harrison Barnes picked up the slack, and the Warriors exceeded everybody’s expectations, sans the player some considered entering the season to be the team’s best guy off the bench. He became the forgotten guy on the team, especially when he wasn’t sitting at the end of the bench in a suit for almost the entire season.
