Barbosa provided one of the only positive memories last night Ok so the Celtics trip to South Beach did not go as planned last night. The C's couldn't stop the Heat's stars and they couldn't stop their role players. Hell I'm pretty sure Alonzo Mourning scored in double figures last night, it was that ugly on the defensive end. But offensively the Celts actually played really well. They put up 107 points while shooting 52% from the floor, 46% from three and 82% from the line. Where did the scoring come from? Paul Pierce (23 points) and Rajon Rondo (20) led the way, which surprised all of 0 people. But the team's third leading scorer? Well that would be the guy who joined the team all of 6 days ago and appeared in zero pre-season games - Leandro Barbosa. The Brazilian blur scored 16 points in a 9 minute span of the 4th quarter and he helped the Celtics make their best run of the game. Barbosa filling it up shouldn't surprise anyone, after all he has sco...

Video: Rondo & Doc talk after Thursday's practice

Here are a few videos from Thursday's practice via WEEI's Mike Petraglia. Rajon Rondo tries not to get fined in his interview and Doc reflects on the opening night loss.

Real or not, this picture of Rajon Rondo and a girl wearing a “LeBron is a ******** shirt is fantastic

It’s real and it’s spectacular. The fellas over at Lob Shots posted this pic earlier today of Celtics guard Rajon Rondo posing with a lovely young lady sporting a “LeBron is a ******** t-shirt, and they were questioning the veracity of the photo. While I don’t profess to be an expert at recognizing a photoshopped pic when I see one, it would really take a lot to convince...

Rajon Rondo Fires Back At Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade recently called out Rajon Rondo and said that he made a “punk play” on him during the season opener between the Heat and Celtics.  Well, today at practice Rajon Rondo took his turn to fire back at Wade.  Rondo called “I mean, I don’t think it was a hard foul,” said Rondo. “[Wade] sold it a little bit. That’s basketball. They were up, he drove to the hole...

Rajon Rondo Clearly Still Harbors Ill Feelings Toward Dwyane Wade for Physical Plays (Videos)

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Some people are so touchy. Dislocate their elbow one time or make a series-altering uncalled hack -- or maybe even both -- and they just will not let it go. Rajon Rondo is not about to forgive Dwyane Wade for some of the physical plays the Heat guard has leveled on him over the past two years. That was clear from his comments after practice Thursday, when the...

Dwyane Wade: Rajon Rondo’s flagrant foul was a ‘punk play’ (Video)

During the final seconds of Tuesday night’s game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, Rajon Rondo was called for a flagrant foul after he grabbed Dwyane Wade from behind by the shoulders and neck. The foul was unneccesary considering the Celtics were trailing by nine and there was virtually no way they were going to come back. Wade was not pleased about it after the game...

Dwyane Wade says of Rajon Rondo’s foul: it was a punk play

The NBA season started off with a bang last night when the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat met in the season opener in Miami. The game had several eventful, including the Heat getting their 2012 rings, KG’s cold shoulder to Ray Allen and this moment between Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo. With Miami in control of the game and seconds remaining, Wade drove to the hoop. Rondo clotheslined him...

Every NBA Team Has A Run In Them: A Non-Spastic Look At The Celtics

KG is all washed up. Rondo is a cancer and needs to be traded. Leondro Barbosa is the best 4th quarter player in the history of the game. Ray Allen will make the Celtics rue the day they let him go. LeBron James needs to drink more Gatorade if the Heat hope to make it back to the finals. All these ridiculous headlines need is a “why” in front of them and a slideshow. Then they...

Comments from the other side - Heat 10/30

Lots of hate for the Celtics as can be expected along with some gloating over Ray's performance.   They also do a lot of whining about the refs for a team that gets more than their share of the calls. They think Wade gets no respect from the refs? How about the fact that he was allowed to push off on every drive to the basket and get away with it, which resulted in a...

Celtics' Heat hatred not all about Allen

MIAMI -- Boston guard Rajon Rondo took out a Miami player. But it wasn't who you thought it might be. It wasn't Ray Allen, believed to be a traitor by some up north for bolting the Celtics last summer to join the Heat as a free agent. It was guard Dwyane Wade, who called Rondo a "punk" for clotheslining him in the final minute of Miami's 120-107 opening-night...

Wade calls Rondo’s flagrant foul a punk play

There was all kinds of bad blood on the court in Miami to open the NBA season last night. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, Rajon Rondo and the entire Miami Heat team. With that bad blood there was no lack of excitement. First there was Garnett giving Allen the cold shoulder when he attempted to greet him on the sidelines and then there was Rondo’s flagrant...

Takeaways from Celtics-Heat

Last night's game was disappointing to say the least, and while there were some troubling signs, the Celtics did show the potential to be a contending force. The Good: Health: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both looked healthy. KG didn't score much, but he appeared much more fit than he did at last year's opening. The Big Ticket had 2 blocks and 12 rebounds along with...

The NBA Is Back… Somebody Tell The Lakers

The NBA is BACK baby and so are the daily notes.  This morning, fantasy owners were greeted by their players with a trick or treat.  Oh LeBron James (26/10/3/2, 2 3PM), a snickers bar!  Thank you Rajon Rondo (20/7/14, 9-14 FG), I love butterfingers!  Kyrie Irving (29/6/3/0/1, 3 3PM), I can take two?!!  Uh Steve Nash (7/2/4/0/1, 1 3PM), a f*cking apple?  Are you joking me?...
