Current Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni says he regrets his decision to leave the Phoenix Suns in 2008 to coach the New York Knicks.
Aside from the Knicks' own resident Brooklyn boy Carmelo Anthony, there was perhaps no other Knickerbocker looking forward to Monday's matchup with the Nets more than Jason Kidd. After being the leader of such New Jersey Nets squads that went head to head with the Knicks in the early 2000's, Kidd understands exactly what the rivalry is all about. He understands how much...
NY STATE OF MIND
The Knicks lost a heart breaker to the Nets in overtime on Monday, but Tyson Chandler had a great night. Chandler went off for a career high 28 points while shooting 92% from the field. He capped it off with some seriously impressive dunks, including this monster put back that was the highlight of the night. Check it out: The post Tyson Chandler has monster put back dunk...
Back spasms prevented Jason Kidd from playing in the first inter-borough battle last night between the Knicks and Nets at the Barclay’s Center. Kidd, who’s had back issues in the past, didn’t even attend the game. At 39, Kidd is the league’s 3rd oldest player, so this could be just the first of many lingering injuries for the 18-year veteran this season.
According to Newsday...
The New York Knicks entered the first Battle of the Boroughs short-handed Monday, as guard Jason Kidd sat out the game against the Brooklyn Nets due to back spasms. Kidd, who missed a game for the first time this season, is listed as day-to-day. The guard's absence caused a lineup shuffle for the Nets. Carmelo Anthony moved to small forward, with Kurt Thomas starting at power...
It seems like every year, there is some athlete, whether in the NBA, NFL, or MLB who just defies expectations and completely .... bombs. I wouldn't go so far as to classify Knicks point guard Raymond Felton a bomb, but for someone who was the 5th pick in the 2005 draft, his career has not lived up to expectations. But you must understand that his career started in Charlotte. When...

There are some who will contend that a rivalry isn't a rivalry just because one person declares it so, but in the case of the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks, it only took one meeting to get a sense of how grand the battle for New York basketball supremacy already is.
In front of a packed and contentious Barclays Center house that fluctuated all night between pro-Knicks...
If Carmelo Anthony were to describe his game, he might sound a lot like Liam Neeson in Taken: “I have a very particular set of skills.”
Anthony has been consistently great at one thing since he entered the league. He scores. Anthony has averaged at least 20 points per game in all 10 of his NBA seasons, and in his last three games, he has averaged 29.7 points.
That could be very...
New York Knicks (9-3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (8-4)
At long last, the Knicks and Nets will meet in the battle of New York. A new rivalry is born and the excitement in The Big Apple is pretty palpable. TNT reported on its pregame show that Raymond Felton compares the excitement for this rivalry to North Carolina-Duke.

According Al Iannazzone, Jason Kidd will miss Monday’s New York battle between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets with back spasms.
Jason Kidd is out with back spasms. He didn’t make the trip. Knicks may go now and start Kurt.
By Kurt, Iannazzone means Kurt Thomas. I find it hard to believe he will start after only playing a total five...
The Nets relocated to the New York Knicks' backyard, and were looking to start the season by showing off their new home to the neighbors.
Superstorm Sandy put those plans on hold.
After waiting for over three weeks, the Nets finally get to host the Knicks on Monday night in what is now an early season matchup between the two top teams in the Atlantic Division.
