To this point, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been extremely vague regarding the status of offseason acquisition Andrew Bynum. While Bynum has said that he expects to return to the court this season, he’s yet to throw a specific return date out there. As training camp approaches, Terry Pluto of The Plain Dealer reports it remains unclear if Bynum will in fact be ready to go for the opening of the new season.Bynum has been working out at the team’s facilities over the offseason, so he figures to be participating in camp at some capacity when it opens. However, Pluto notes that the big man might not be at full basketball activity for the start of camp. Where he’s at to begin the exhibition season will largely impact when he takes the court during the regular season. The Cavs don’t need to have Bynum up to full speed for the start of training camp, as that’s what the exhibition season is for. What Cleveland is more concerned about is the overall health of Bynum’s knees, each of which endured surgery in March, and if they can hold up over the length of a full season.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
