The Cleveland Cavaliers still have a lot of work to do. But LeBron James and Co. have a chance. And that’s partly because GM Koby Altman would clean house ahead of NBA’s trade deadline on Thursday. But, how much of an impact are these moves going to make?

If nothing else, Altman is confident that these moves will ‘rejuvenate‘ LeBron.

We felt like we were on a slow death march and that’s not something I wanted to be a part of.

He doesn’t stop there, of course.

I think we’re going to get a rejuvenated LeBron James, and that’s the key. … He’s the guy who is going to take us back to the promised land.

It’s a lot to ask, of course. But this is how LeBron operates. Especially in Cleveland. He’s the man, and everybody knows it. Still, this is a lot of roster turnover in the middle of a season. Let’s take a quick look, shall we?

In

  • Jordan Clarkson
  • Larry Nance, Jr.
  • Rodney Hood
  • George Hill

Out

  • Isaiah Thomas
  • Channing Frye
  • Derrick Rose
  • Iman Shumpert
  • Jae Crowder
  • Dwyane Wade

Going forward, however, there’s nothing easy about it for the Cavaliers. Currently they are 31-22 and 7.5 games back of first out east. Plus, Tyronn Lue isn’t going to just snap his fingers and make all of these new pieces fit. But at the same time, something clearly wasn’t working.

And if there’s any chance LeBron stays in Cleveland, the Cavaliers have to do all they can.
