Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni took the reigns of the team without a full training camp or the luxury to have time to implement his system. Add the fact the team was beset with injuries to Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant and dealt with the Dwight Howard drama, L.A. did manage to make the postseason but did get swept by the Spurs. Heading into the new season, D'Antoni will finally have a training camp and a shot to get things off on the right foot. Gone is Howard and back is Kobe rested and healed. He has his own personnel to fit his system which should help tremendously. During Lakers' media day, D'Antoni spoke on the team's chances next season and though many are counting the Lakers out, he is quite confident his team will surprise many. [follow]
