Call it hazards of the job but NBA ref Bill Kennedy was at the right place but at the wrong time. It was your typical tipoff like every tipoff this past season for the Bucks and Bobcats. Kennedy is in the middle of Bucks' Larry Sanders and Charlotte's Bismack Biyombo, tosses the ball in the air but instead of just jogging to the Bucks' side of the court after Sanders wins the tip, he receives a hard elbow to the face by Sanders. Kennedy is sent to the floor and looks dazed while taking a knee. Check out the video and, though is was an accident by Sanders, I am sure some fans wish their favorite ref-to-hate suffered the same fate. [follow]

Larry Sanders takes out ref with elbow on tipoff

After watching the NBA for over 15 years, I don't recall any moment like the incident that NBA referee Bill Kennedy suffered tonight during the tip-off of the Milwaukee Bucks game against the Charlotte Bobcats. As Milwaukee center Larry Sanders won the tip-off against Charlotte's Bismack Biyombo, he accidentally swung his elbow in the direction of Kennedy who was trying to...

Bucks-Bobcats game started with a Larry Sanders elbow to referee Bill Kennedy’s face

As you can see above referee Bill Kennedy’s night didn’t get off to a rousing start, as he took a Larry Sanders unintentional elbow right to the kisser on the opening tip-off of Monday night’s Bucks-Bobcats game. Kennedy was dropped like a bag of potatoes, and play was stopped immediately as the fallen official was tended to by medical staff. To his credit Kennedy stayed in...

Bucks' Sanders is finding his offensive game

MILWAUKEE It took Larry Sanders until his 174th NBA game to score 20 points in a game. Four days was all it took for him to do it a second time. After scoring a career-high 21 points against the Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday, Sanders set a new career high Monday, scoring 24 points to go along with 13 rebounds in Milwaukee's 131-102 rout of Charlotte. The 131 points were...

Larry Sanders Elbows Referee in the Face (Video)

It’s well documented that Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders doesn’t get along with NBA officials. He received an inordinate amount of ejections for failing to control his temper last month, but the belief is that this recent incident was completely accidental. At the tip-off of the game between the Bucks and the Charlotte Bobcats last night, referee Bill Kennedy was a little...

Bobcats fall to Sanders, Bucks

MILWAUKEE -- Larry Sanders had a career-high 24 points and 13 rebounds as Milwaukee cruised to a 131-102 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday night for the Bucks' highest scoring total in more than four years. Monta Ellis had 19 points, a career-high 14 assists and six steals to help Milwaukee pull 1 12 games behind seventh-place Boston in the Eastern Conference playoff...

Larry Sanders Accidentally Elbows Referee In The Face

For the second time in three days a ref has taken been on the receiving end of a unintentional blow from a player. Boozer caught ref, Dan Crawford with a celebratory punch almost below the belt, and on Tuesday, Bill Kennedy caught an inadvertent elbow from Bucks center Larry Sanders. After tossing up the jump ball to start the game, Kennedy hit the deck after Sanders’ elbow struck...

Larry Sanders Elbows Referee Bill Kennedy in Head During Jump Ball (Video)

Celtics fans likely won’t mind watching this clip from Monday night’s Bobcats-Bucks game. Bucks forward/center Larry Sanders went up for the jump ball and as he came down, his elbow knocked referee (and Doc Rivers hater) Bill Kennedy in the noggin. Kennedy worked the rest of the game. It was unintentional on Sanders’ part (we think), but it is worth mentioning that Sanders...

Last night’s Bucks-Bobcats game began with Larry Sanders elbowing referee Bill Kennedy in the head

We’re pretty sure you didn’t get to see the Bucks take on the Bobcats last night. Likewise, referee Bill Kennedy almost didn’t get to see the Bucks take on the Bobcats last night either. Because just seconds after throwing the ball up for the opening tip, Kennedy was sent to the court after being hit with a Larry Sanders elbow. The post Last night’s Bucks-Bobcats game began...

Bucks 131, Bobcats 102

Wolves seek first winning streak in months

The Milwaukee Bucks just improved their position in the Eastern Conference standings. They can partly thank the Minnesota Timberwolves for that. Milwaukee continues its push for its first playoff berth in three seasons on Wednesday night when the visiting Timberwolves go for their first set of back-to-back wins since December. With nine games left and a six-game edge over ninth...
