Ainge talks Rondo, Stevens on 98.5 The Sports Hub

In his weekly appearance with 98.5 The Sports Hub this morning, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge was forced to laugh a few times given the questions he was asked. The first topic introduced by Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb of Toucher and Rich had to do with Gary Tanguay of CSNNE, and his belief that Rajon Rondo had bought into the tanking process. Tanguay...

Rajon Rondo undecided on exploring free agency in 2015

Rajon Rondo told reporters after Friday's practice that he hasn't yet made a decision regarding if he will explore unrestricted free agency at the end of next season. He did, however, appear intrigued and somewhat interested in the experience itself. "I've heard stories, guys getting called right at midnight," Rondo said. "It's something that I haven...

Your Morning Dump… Where there’s little talk of trading Rondo at the deadline

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. However, a source with direct knowledge of the situation has informed Basketball Insiders that the Celtics have demonstrated little activity as it relates to potentially moving Rondo at the deadline. The team has...

Report: Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo Will Test NBA Free Agency

Rajon Rondo has been a member of the Boston Celtics for his entire seven-year NBA career, but his future with the team beyond the 2014-15 season — which is the final year of his contract — is uncertain. According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Celtics’ starting point guard will test the free agent market for the first time in his career. “Though he is not looking to get...

Could Rajon Rondo be in cahoots with Danny Ainge on tanking? Ainge calls it a 'silly conversation'

The Celtics have yet to win a game in which Rajon Rondo has played this season (0-6).  Even though it makes perfect sense the he's a little rusty coming back from ACL surgery (he's shooting just 27.9% from the field), I've still had my concerns as to why Rondo hasn't had a bigger impact on the team since his return.  While sitting through the pathetic blowout loss...

Celtics' guard Avery Bradley set to return on Sunday

The Boston Celtics fell to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday by the score of 95-94. The loss was their fourth straight and dropped the Celtics to 15-33, last in the Atlantic Division.  The Celtics played without point guard Avery Bradley for the fifth consecutive game with an ankle injury. The good news is that Bradley is set to return Sunday against the Orlando Magic.Keith Allison...

Rajon Rondo “intrigued” with being a free agent in 2015

Rajon Rondo says he is intrigued with being a free agent Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has only played a handful of games since tearing his ACL, but that hasn’t stopped his name from being in the proverbial rumor mill. Recently, Rondo said he would be open to staying in Boston, but like every athlete in today’s era, being wooed and recruited is the more appealing thing...

Rajon Rondo Intrigued By 'College Recruitment' Type Process In Free Agency

Rajon Rondo responded to speculation he intends to test free agency when his contract with the Boston Celtics is up in 2015, saying, "I may want to go through it." Rondo added he is intrigued by the wooing process that happens for free agents. "It’s kind of like college recruiting," Rondo said on Friday. "I’m pretty sure a lot more goes into it in the...

Should the Boston Celtics Trade Rajon Rondo or Build Around Him?

Rajon Rondo is the one thing the Boston Celtics have going for them after blowing their team up in the offseason and struggling through the first half of this one. However, we have to ask the question: Is Rondo's value in what he can contribute to the current Celtics? Or is it in what he can bring the team in a trade?

The franchise record 18-game losing streak in 2007 was bad, but this is worse

Ask any Celtics fan what the ultimate streak of futility is in the history of the storied franchise and they’ll be able to reel off the number and year as quickly as naming the amount of NBA leading championships they have.  Ironically, those numbers are nearly identical (18 for the losing streak, 17 for the titles).  Back then, the Celtics entered the season with intentions...

Green Kick Of The Week feat Jeff Green’s Jordan XX8 SE

It’s been a very emotional week for Celtics fans. The return of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will forever be etched in my mind and I’m sure yours too. It really proved just how awesome sport is and how great the Celtics organisation is. Whilst all the attention was rightfully on Pierce and Garnett, Jeff Green laced up a flashy pair of Jordan’s. This weeks winner of Green...

Avery Bradley: Hope to Play on Sunday Against Orlando Magic

The Boston Celtics will see their defensive enforcer and uprising scorer return to action on Sunday, barring setback.  Avery Bradley, who suffered a sprain ankle on January 21 against the Miami Heat, seems to be ahead of the "few weeks" prognosis, and will seek return on Sunday against the Orlando Magic, as he told reporters on Friday after practice.  "He was good...

Celtics Tweets of Interest: Jared Sullinger Selected to Rising Stars; Phil Pressy’s Community Work

On January 26th, fans of the Boston Celtics were able to display their appreciation for Brooklyn Nets forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. In an ugly game, the Celtics fell 85-79. The return of Garnett and Pierce provided a welcome distraction from the Celtics’ losing streak. The Celtics continued their slide with a lackluster performance in New York as the Knicks rolled to...

What's the reason for Rondo's subpar play?

Rajon Rondo clearly isn't the Rajon Rondo of old. The Celtics have lost all six games he's played in this season, and he hasn't exactly been lighting it up. Of course the fact that he's coming off of major knee surgery could have something to do with how he's looked. But could it be something else aside from how his knee is feeling?
