The Boston Celtics are missing Rajon Rondo for one more game, but Courtney Lee will try to soften the blow of that absence again.
Visiting the sputtering Milwaukee Bucks may also help.
With Lee expected to start at the point again, the Celtics attempt to continue their success against the Bucks by getting another win at the Bradley Center on Saturday night.
Rondo, the NBA's leader with 12.9 assists per game, will serve the second of his two-game suspension for shoving Brooklyn's Kris Humphries into the stands in retaliation for a hard foul on Kevin Garnett in Wednesday's 95-83 loss.
Boston (9-7) didn't seem to miss the All-Star guard Friday, when it never trailed in a 96-78 victory over Portland, winning for the third time in four tries.
"(Rondo's) our leader, so it's tough when he's not here," said forward Jeff Green, who had a season-high 19 points. "So everybody as a group has to pull together as a team and try and take his place.&q...
BEST OF MAXIM
Some people don't like Courtney Lee, but I remain a fan. If you were hoping to get an in prime version of Ray Allen then yeah you might be disappointed. But for the MLE, I think Lee gives you a lot. He can play D and shoot the ball. Unfortunately he's not knocking down a high percentage of jumpers this year and people have turned on him a bit. Hopefully after tonight'...
Rondo’s ‘determined to show I can become a leader’ campaign took a hit in many people’s eyes when he lost his composure in the game on Wednesday against the Nets. I do not see it that way, as he showed he can become the emotional leader once the days of Kevin Garnett are over. Sure he was short fused, but he also displayed unrivaled support for his teammates. There...
Tommy started off in rare fashion with a rant on Rondo's suspension. Tommy is from an era when you stood up for each other and what Rondo did was a nightly occurrence. The whole league has gotten soft.
On Rondo's 2 game suspension "Absolutely overkill. For crying out loud he stood up for his teammate.""I'm yelling!I'm really yelling!
Rajon Rondo is not backing down from his actions in Wednesday’s loss to the Nets.
After taking offense to a hard foul by Kris Humphries on Kevin Garnett, Rondo was ejected from the game and could face a suspension from the league for his actions. However, before practice on Thursday, the Celtics point guard did not seem to show much remorse for how things had played out.
After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value.
Offense: Defense: Overall:
I bet when you see 3 green arrows come up for Courtney Lee, you expect a siren to go off and coins to come pouring out of your monitor somehow. I’m going to look past a few of the misses because as we’ve...

The Celtics pasted the Portland Trailblazers at TD Garden tonight, 96-78. Courtney Lee and Jeff Green both stepped-up, and Kevin Garnett was vintage KG. He scored his 10 points on a variety of bank shots, fadeaways and sweet jumpers. Ticket also finished with 5 boards & 4 assists in 23 minutes. Jeff Green was aggressive from the jump and led the C’s with...
Jeff Green scored 19 points, Jason Terry added 17 and the Boston
Celtics cruised to a comfortable win without Rajon Rondo, topping
the Portland Trail Blazers 96-78 on Friday night.
Kris Humphries might be more of a diva than his X-Wife Kim Kardashian. And that's hard to do. He tweeted this picture of his arm/shoulder after last nights fight with Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett which you can watch here. At first I thought the punch to Garnett by Humphries was on accident, but I hate this guy so much I'm changing my opinion. He probably just did...
8 a.m. ET: In all likelihood, no team wants to get back on the court more than the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Blazers became the first team to fall to the Washington Wizards this season when they dropped an 84-82 decision to Nene and company on Wednesday. Once a regular playoff participant, the Blazers have missed out on the postseason the last two years and are off to a disappointing...
February 22nd, 2012 – The Boston Celtics lose to the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-104 dropping their record to 15-17. Even the most ardent members of Celtics Nation declare the “window” shut for the team. The break-up of the Big Three seems inevitable as Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and maybe even Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett [...]
On Wednesday the Celtics lost to the Brooklyn Nets 95-83 on their home court, and Doc Rivers refused to mince words afterwards.
In the wake of a game that saw Rajon Rondo ejected (and his double-digit assist streak end), Rivers pointedly called the team “soft” in his postgame comments. Rivers even seemed to specifically refer to Rondo’s actions, saying “that stuff’s not...
Kris Humphries (3/4/0 with 2 blocks) fouled Kevin Garnett (16/10/1) somewhat hard (his flopping made it look worse than it was). Rajon Rondo (6/1/3 with 2 steals) took exception to the contact, and since NBA players are mature, emotionally well-adjusted individuals, a brawl ensued, resulting in the ejection of Humpy and Rondo. Word has it a towel boy was punched in the face as the...
