Rondo
It was a close game in the first quarter despite Rajon Rondo's brilliant 17 points on 7-for-7 shooting in the opening frame. Then the Celtics defense kicked in, they held the Italians to 4-of-19 shooting in that second quarter and that was pretty much the story of the game. Rajon Rondo's 17 ended up tying for the team lead with Jeff Green. Paul Pierce added 14 on 4-of-6 shooting while Jason Terry showed the reason they brought him in to replace Ray Allen - going 3-for-5 behind the arc for 11 points. That's more like it. More Rondo fashion pics

Rajon Rondo made the cover of Boston Common Magazine and they have a pretty lengthy interview and feature on him. Not sure if the author really knows their basketball as they allude to Ray Allen playing the same position as Rondo on the court, but the article does have some good quotes from Rondo.People can judge point guards by assessing passing, scoring, defense, and a slew of...

Rondo Cookies One of Few Sweet Things for Rajon Rondo, Celtics in Turkey (Photo)

Rajon Rondo makes some sweet moves with the basketball, but even a behind-the-back pass may not sweeter than the Rondo cookies reportedly found in the media room at Ulker Sports Arena in Istanbul. Rondo cookies apparently are Turkish treats that are not found in the U.S. The Celtics are in Turkey as part of the NBA's international preseason tour, and the elusive (at least in...

A Confident Rondo

Rajon Rondo told me he was more confident in his 3-point shot and had been working hard on it. Form on 3 he just hit looked best it ever had — Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) October 5, 2012 How many times over the last few years have we said that if Rondo just had a jumper he would be scary. Well, I think we may just have a scary Rondo on our hands this season. I've said...

Rondo, Darko, Sullinger stand out in win in Milan

The Celtics weren’t about to become the first NBA team to drop both games in an NBA Europe trip.  Rajon Rondo dominated the first quarter, the second unit pulled away in the second quarter, and then it was all a breeze from there in a 105-75 win. Here’s what stood out: Rondo, obviously, off the top.  He had a perfect first quarter, shooting 7-7, including his 1 three and two...

What Can We Learn from the Celtics Trip to Europe?

The Celtics played their second preseason game of the season yesterday, this time in Milan against an Italian league team (their first contest was in Istanbul vs a squad from Turkey). I’ll be the first to admit that you can’t really infer much based on observations of a couple preseason games in Europe against teams from leagues we know nothing about.  As good as Jeff Green...
