The Boston Celtics have two guards with torn ACLs.  They received updates on both.  Fortunately, the news on Rajon Rondo's knee is positive.  However, Leandro Barbosa who tore his ACL just a couple days ago, did not get quite as encouraging news.According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Rondo's knee surgery went well.Danny Ainge tells Globe Rondo underwent ACL surgery Tues Performed by James Andrews. Ainge says Rondo suffered no other knee damage #celtics— gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) February 13, 2013The good news here is not so much that the surgery went well as much as there was no additional damage found in the knee.  The same cannot be said for Barbosa who has yet to undergo surgery.Ainge adds that Leandro Barbosa also sustained MCL damage and will wait a month before his surgery to strengthen left knee #celtics— gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) February 13, 2013If it turns out that Barbosa has a torn ACL and MCL, his recovery time will be much longer than he would have hoped or expected.  Both his and Rondo's injuries hurt the Celtics badly, but at least Rondo is expected to be ready by the start of training camp at the latest.  Barbosa may not be so lucky.Rondo was averaging 13.7 points and 11.1 assists per game at the time of his injury.  Barbosa was averaging 5.2 points and 1.4 assists per game at the time of his ACL injury.
