Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics had been playing well even with the distraction of the trade deadline looming.
Now that it's come and gone with his team still intact, Garnett will try to lead the Celtics to another win over the struggling Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
After scoring 21 points in a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, Garnett had a team-leading 24 in a 105-103 win over Golden State on Wednesday, including the tiebreaking jumper with 5.1 seconds left.
Brandon Bass added a season-high 22 points as the Celtics improved to 2-1 on their eight-game road trip, which ends March 23 in Philadelphia.
Garnett scored 12 in the fourth quarter while finishing one shy of his season high. He's averaged 17.6 points and 9.4 rebounds while shooting 56.4 percent in 11 games since taking over as the starting center for the injured Jermaine O'Neal.
"He's been unbelievable this run," coach Doc Rivers told the league's official website. ...

Kevin Garnett had been hot all night. It was as if he picked up a newspaper this morning and it was dated 2004. So with the score knotted at 103 and just 28 seconds on the clock, Paul Pierce kicked the ball out of the paint and in one fluid motion, KG gently placed the ball in the hoop from 18 feet out.
A close game from the start, neither team seemed to find much separation. Boston...
(Do not talk about the possibility that tonight was the final night of the Big Three Era, Jay.)(Don’t do it.)(Please don’t ruin a game winning shot, you F*$&ing asshole.)Okay, fine. But that wouldn’t have been the worst way to end it, with Paul Pierce patiently finding Kevin Garnett for a game-winning jumper. It’s supremely late, I just spent two and a half hours listening...
Kevin Garnett and Ryan Anderson are two players that the Nets will pursue this offseason.
9 a.m. ET: A road trip that had gotten off to an overall good start for the Celtics hit a speed bump Friday with a 25-point loss to the Kings. For one night, the Celtics did not look so smart for not making a big move at the trade deadline. They won't have much time to dwell on the loss. After catching a late-night/early-morning flight to Denver, the Celtics take on the Nuggets...
The Celtics pulled out a second win on their West coast road swing, beating the Golden State Warriors 105-103 on a Kevin Garnett jumper with 5.1 seconds remaining.
Talk about trading one of the Celtics four stars has changed into talk about what the Celtic can do to add a big body to help out Garnett and Brandon Bass. Danny Ainge was on WEEI with Dale Arnold and Kirk Minihane (A...
Kevin Garnett scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, including a tiebreaking jumper with 5.1 seconds left that led the Boston Celtics to a 105-103 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
Brandon Bass added a season-high 22 points, Paul Pierce and Mickael Pietrus each chipped in 15 and Rajon Rondo dished out 14 assists for the Celtics, who have won their...
The NBA trade deadline has passed and the Celtics did NOT make a major move (at this hour, we haven't heard word of a minor move).
Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce will all be wearing Celtic green for the rest of the season.
There was a completely false Twitter report that the Clippers backed out of a deal that would have sent Ray Allen to Los Angeles...
The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and all the same guys are still here. I’d like to that Danny Ainge for listening to me. Everybody’s main concern now about the Celtics is their lack of big men; Greg Stiemsma is the only active true center on the roster. But recent numbers show it might not be as great a problem as people think. Since the All-Star break Boston...
The NBA Trade Deadline has come and gone, and the Celtics are sticking their guns, and those guns are named Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. For the past few weeks, The Boston Celtics have been the center of just about every trade rumor as their inconsistent play has them sitting at seventh place in the Eastern Conference. If the playoffs started tomorrow, the...
Despite the team’s struggles and general managerDanny Ainges’ constant trade threats, the Boston Celtics were not able to pullthe trigger on any trades before the trade deadline on Thursday. That doesn’t mean that Boston’s management is happy with theroster as currently constructed, it just means that they didn’t receive anytrade offers they felt would make the team better...
