Not much to say about this one except to learn from it and move on. The Celtics stayed within 2 in the first quarter but after that, it wasn't even close. Once again, one of the culprits was turnovers as the Celtics gave the ball away 21 times. Another problem was once again their pick and roll defense. That's one thing they have to solve before the season starts because the Heat will eat them alive on the pick and roll if they don't. Rumph Jr) The Celtics also shot a horrendous 38% while allowing the Sixers to shoot 49%. The Celtics were out-rebounded 48-42. They had just 20 assists as opposed to 32 assists for the Sixers. They even shot just 11-18 from the line. The concentration just wasn't there. They were outplayed by the Sixers on both ends of the...

Rajon Rondo the quiet leader of the Celtics?

Rajon Rondo has long been considered a supremely talented player who has an attitude problem. He was supposed to be the leader of the Celtics for the past few years, but there were reports saying Boston was considering trading him because he had become so difficult. He’s had several run-ins with referees, blowups at the media, and he notably struggled to get along Ray Allen last...

Rajon Rondo: Illusion vs Reality

"It's time they got to know the Rajon Rondo we've all been embracing for some time now" -Keyon Dooling  http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/_/id/8510892/rajon-rondo-steps-shadows-boston-celtics-leader      Jackie MacMullan (Probably my current favorite sports writer) wrote another one of her wonderful pieces on Rajon Rondo recently, about Rondo's new...

Assistant Coach Rajon Rondo

We know it's bound to happen once in a while. The head coach has a player's back and the ref has enough and out goes the coach. It's happened a few times with Doc and will probably happen again. Last night, Doc put his coaches in that position by staying in the locker room after the half. Word is that Doc just wanted to watch the presidential debate but that's...

The New Green?

1st time all star? Comeback player of the year? Top 25 player in the NBA? How about all three. Jeff Green is back and his resurgence is as important to the Celtic's future as is Rondo's steady climb to become and maintain the title of the league's best playmaker. What is even more important is their connection and how they are able to make eachother better. The duo of...

Comments From the Other Side - Sixers 10/15

Well, that was unpleasant to watch. Hopefully the Celtics got that all out of their system and hopefully Doc can start defining roles a bit more so that they can get into a groove before the start of the season. Sixers fans aren't all that bad a bunch. They don't seem to have the vitriol that say Knicks fans or Heat fans or Lakers fans have. My favorite comment was the...

Help Wanted: Boston Celtics Need Back Up Point Guard

I do not want to see this become reality, but it might be what we need. So far, the 2012-2013 Boston Celtics have looked pretty good, well other then tonight. We have one of the deepest rosters, on paper, in the NBA. We added plenty of pieces in the off season and look like we retooled for another run. Even though we lost #20(yeah that's exactly how I will refer to him throughout...

Which Five Players Would Make the Best Starting Five

I took to Twitter the other night after screening The Other Dream Team and wanted to know what you, the readers/listeners readers regarded as the best starting five players, in your opinion and likes. Granted, my favorite five of all time is a bit weird. My starting five would look like this: PG: Anfernee Hardaway SG: Kerry Kittles SF: Paul Pierce PF: Tim Duncan ...

The Cutting Floor: Jeff Green, Courtney Lee, and Moving Without the Ball

Stop me if you've heard this one: Rajon Rondo has the ball at the 3 point line. Kevin Garnett sets a pick. Meanwhile, the other big sets a screen under the basket, and the Wing runs through and gets to the corner. Rondo drives then dishes to the corner, open 3. With guys like Eddie House, James Posey, and oh, just the best 3-point shooter ever, this play has been a staple of...

Preseason: Sixers top the Celtics 107-75

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics 107-75 during exhibition play Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center. The Celtics slogged their way to their third preseason loss in four outings. Celtics Struggle Losing 75 to 107

In their second NBA preseason game the Celtics matched up against the 76ers for the first time since last years 2012 NBA Playoffs. The offseason brought all new players to both teams shifting Doc's gameplan and match-ups. One of the most notable differences was the absence of Andre Iguodala who was shipped off to Denver in a multi-player deal that brought former Lakers center...

Celtics Sneaker Review: Brooklyn Nets

The Celtics hit the Garden parquet for the first time this preseason. Jeff Green brought out some heat, as he wore the Nike Hyperposite in a Atomic Green/Charcoal colorway. The Nike Hyperposite is a $225 high end basketball shoe released by Nike earlier this summer. Check out The Shoe Games post about the shoes. Rajon Rondo debuted a pair of white/gorge green/volt Nike 2012 Hyperfuse...
