“Celtics-Nation,” realized big changes were on their way, after the club granted former bench boss Doc Rivers his release from his contract in Boston, to take over as head coach and Vice President of the Los Angeles Clippers, earlier this week. The other shoe dropped, or at least started to dangle, on Thursday night as the “Boston Globe” has reported that the Celtics have a deal in principle with the Brooklyn Nets, which should close on July 10. After being a Playoff Perennial since winning the NBA Finals in 2008, Boston and their fans will be on the “WIGGINS WATCH,” next season as they hope to acquire the number one pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The deal will send Celtics All-Star forwards, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce as well as veteran guard Jason Terry, to Brooklyn in exchange for forwards Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, guard Keith Bogans and first round draft picks in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
