Celtics announce they've recalled Fab Melo from D-League's Maine Red Claws. Averaged 10.9 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 3.8 bpg for Red Claws

Fab Melo has been tearing up the D-League. Ainge made it clear that he thought that was the best place for him to stay right now. Granted, that was before the Celtics got blown out in three straight games. For what it's worth, Melo said the same thing.
Still, it's unlikely this is a sign that Melo could see playing time in the NBA. Kris Joseph has been called up from Maine a million times, and this isn't the first time Melo's been calld up either.

It took Fab Melo a grand total of six months on an NBA roster to be featured in a Deadspin article for his stupidity. And it’s probably surprising to many that it didn’t happen sooner.

Don't have much to add, except that I have verified that the Celtics have signed the door to a two year deal to replace Jason Collins as the starting center.

With all the controversy surrounding helmet-to-helmet hits and concussions in the NFL, it’s about time we start talking about low hanging door hinges and 7-foot NBA players.

BOSTON — Fab Melo is back with the Celtics, but it was not his string of dominant performances with their D-League affiliate that earned him a trip back here. Rather, it was a blow to the head and league rules for NBA teams and their relationships with their NBADL affiliates.

Being tall ain’t easy. Boston Celtics rookie center Fab Melo stands 7-feet tall. While his height makes playing basketball easier than it would be for someone like me, it can also turn everyday activities into a challenge. Take walking through a standard doorway, for example.

Boston Celtics rookie Fab Melo has had an interesting first season. It started with him breaking a folding chair during a rookie photo shoot. He then was sent down to the D-League where he was averaging a respectable 10.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks. And just recently he had been called up to Boston.
But not to suit up for the Celtics. But to get proper treatment for a...
The Boston Celtics recently called up rookie Fab Melo from the D-League, and it isn’t because he has been dominant, because he has. No, the rookie out of Syracuse was brought up to see the team doctor because he suffered a concussion. The concussion was not suffered in a game. The 7 foot center gave himself a concussion by walking into, rather than through, a doorway, at a hotel...
After being selected in the first round by the Boston Celtics, Fab Melo has spent most of the season in the D-League working on his game. When he came out of Syracuse, everyone knew that Melo’s game was very raw, particularly on the offensive end. He flashed his defensive capabilities in college where he was the center of the Syracuse zone defense.
He had made a lot of strides...
Fab Melo is a huge prospect, with raw talent. Celtics had him doing development with the Red Claws. But earlier this week Melo suffered a concussion….walking into a doorway.
Yup. Walked in a doorway in his hotel room down in South Dakota.
