Jason Terry‘s last shot told the whole story. With the Celtics up by four and Terry seemingly heating up with two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter already, the veteran sharpshooter let loose a long-range shot that might have put the nail in the Bobcats’ coffin. The other four guys in green jerseys turned to jog back down the court, anticipating another flight for the Jet. As the ball began its downward arc, though, it was obvious this would not be the dagger, if it reached the hoop at all. Finally, the ball did graze the front of the rim — barely — and a few minutes later the Bobcats were celebrating the end of their seven-game losing streak. As the Celtics’ seven-game win streak fell to shambles, Terry’s short-armed shot demonstrated that the Celtics simply had nothing left. Do not read too much into this loss, though. From the moment the schedule was released, this one was bound to be a challenge. A road game after a home game is never a cakewalk for a team that employs three star...

Celtkicks: Antoine Walker and Avery Bradley are the Real Deal

This evening I attended the Adidas Real Deal Release Event held at Concepts in Cambridge. The Real Deal were Employee #8′s signature shoe from his second season in the league. Adidas celebrated the re-release of the shoe with an autograph signing/sneaker release party. To make the event even more special, Adidas invited Celtics stopper Avery Bradley, who has been wearing the...

Celtics options at guard position

The Boston Celtics didn't panic to fill Rajon Rondo's spot when he was ruled out for the season with a torn right ACL. But with Leandro Barbosa now out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his Left knee, the Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge might be forced to bring in outside help

Underrated Stat of the Night - Nuggets 2/10

Tonight, the Celtics won their seventh consecutive game over the Nuggets, 118-114 in triple overtime. The game should've ended in regulation, but a terrible call with 3 seconds left in the fourth allowed the Nuggets to force overtime. Because of this, Boston was forced to make a few comebacks in the first two overtimes, before finally pulling away in the third. Paul Pierce led...

Avery Bradley Chases Down Kemba Walker to Block Shot on Fast Break (Video)

If the Celtics had come out flat and never really competed against the Bobcats on Monday night, nobody really could have blamed them. They were less than 24 hours removed from playing three overtimes in a win over Denver, and a late-night road trip left them very little time to recuperate before suiting up in Charlotte. The Celtics competed right to end, though, and had a few chances...

Barbosa injures knee, likely done

The Boston Celtics' backcourt keeps getting thinner. Leandro Barbosa left Monday's game with a knee injury, and it's not sounding good.  Barbosa could join Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger as Celtics who are done for the season.

Rondo still Celtics leader while injured

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo may be out for the season with a torn ACL, but that doesn't mean he's gonna just sit at home. Rondo has stay involved with the Celtics,

Underrated Stat of the Night - Bulls 2/13

Tonight, the Celtics won a fun game over the Bulls 71-69. Brandon Bass led the Celtics with 14 in what was perhaps his best game of the year. It was nice to see him finally start scoring. This is the way the Celtics work; when one guy goes down, someone else steps up. It looks like Bass may be filling Barbosa's void. Tonight's USOTN goes to the 3-point shooting of Jason...

Rest Up C's, You Will Need It

One more game left, until the well rested break. The Boston Celtics finish the first half of the season, trying to get revenge on a Bulls team that beat us by a lucky shot by Marco Belinelli. But my point of this article is not about that game, but it is for the Celtics to rest up and get ready for the crazy second half of the season. We are so many players down, I have lost track...

Is anyone else as confused as me?

CelticsLife readers and writers. I need your help. I can't wrap my head around this crazy season the Celtics are having. Before the year began, I thought this was the best Celtics team we've had during the Garnett era.  Unfortunately, we sputtered out of the gate, and while we've had our moments, it has pretty much been a disappointing season up until this recent win...

Boston Celtics survive ugly game against the Chicago Bulls 71-69

The Celtics might have played their ugliest game of the season tonight, but winning ugly is what Boston does best.To say the Celtics are beat up would be a gross understatement. Less than three weeks ago the Celtics lost their All-Star point guard to a torn ACL, gone for the remainder of the season. He was joined shortly afterwards by rookie Jared Sullinger, and just this past Monday...

Recap: Celtics beat Nuggets in a triple-overtime bar fight

THAT WAS A DAMN BAR FIGHT!   After an atrocious reversal by the referees that led to Ty Lawson sending the game to overtime, this game went into a full-fledged bar fight.  It was sloppy, it was gritty, it was big shot after big shot, but eventually the Celtics outlasted the Nuggets, 118-114. So much to talk about, let’s get right into it. The Green: First, Jason Terry was looking...

There’s a New Big Three in Town

As the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets stood by eagerly, while officials gathered around the replay monitor, I couldn’t help but be overcome with a strong sense of déjà vu. The Celtics led 92-90 with little under four seconds to play. The Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried had just missed two potential game-tying free throws, Andre Miller failed to make good on the team’s 1,039...

3 OT Effort Lifts Celtics To 7th Straight Win

The Celtics needed three overtimes, but managed to get their seventh win in a row, with a 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the TD Garden. Denver had come into the game having won nine in a row themselves. The Celtics were paced by the “old” guys, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry, who all logged big minutes, and the Celtics play on the road in Charlotte tonight...
