Found February 01, 2013 on Celtics Life:
Some of the Celtics have voiced their opinion on how Doc's new philosophy is a welcome change from one person pounding the ball for 4 or 5 seconds.  That way they get to play the same kind of mindless AAU inspired brand of basketball as the Miami Heat.  The only difference between the two is that the Heat have a dynamic player in LeBron James and Paul Pierce can no longer play at a high-level for 48 minutes. It hasn't been  easy with nine new players with the public declaration of this being Rajon Rondo's team.  Paul Pierce especially has had a hard time adjusting and it showed in how the team played with Rondo. Though he said the right things about Rondo being the de facto leader. You could tell that he was not a willing participant in the Rondo experiment. Now that he has to be more of a facilitator he has become a happier player and the team chemistry is better for it. Tonight they  ran roughshod over the Orlando Magic, and so they should; because the Magic is go...

Celtics Win First Without Rondo 99-81

On Wednesday night the Celtics faced the Kings in what might have be the last time a Sacramento team comes to the TD Garden. The Celtics looked to begin the first chapter of their season without Rajon Rondo who was diagnosed with a torn ACL after pregame warm-ups Sunday. The Kings came to town amidst a potential relocation to Seattle and looked to get their second win over the Celtics...

Rajon Rondo’s Torn ACL Could Force Celtics to Shuffle Players at Trade Deadline

For much of the 2012-13 season, it appeared as though the Boston Celtics might be able to hang on to their spot among the Eastern Conference’s elite, that no longer seems to be the case. Not on the NBA moneyline, at least, where their odds of winning the NBA championship have dipped to 30-1. This, we’ll remind you, is a team whose been a mainstay within the NBA futures’ top...

Celtics Roll Over Magic, Move To 3-0 Post-Rondo

Celtics 97, Magic 84 A Celtics team that is reeling from injuries was fortunate enough to match up against an Orlando Magic squad that came into Friday Night’s game having lost 18 of their last 20. Boston (23-23) pulled away with a 14-4 run to begin the fourth quarter and ended up winning by double-digits for the second consecutive game. Inevitably, this will only fuel the...

Recap: Paul Pierce saves bipolar Celtics from heartbreaking loss

Is this team bipolar or what? The Celtics tuned up the Clippers with 59 points in the first half. The offense was crisp, efficient and just plain smart. The defense was solid and the Clippers helped by playing sloppy. The combination resulted in a 19 point halftime lead. The second half was the exact opposite. The defense evaporated. The offense stopped. No movement. Sloppy passing...

RedsArmy presents: Fan Friday #39: “Family Affair”

I had the pleasure of meeting Ica, this week’s featured fan, and her family at last Sunday’s Celtics-Heat game. It was Ica’s first ever time to TD Garden and what a game she got to watch! It was somewhat bittersweet for her, as Rajon Rondo, her favorite Celtic, missed the game due to a season-ending ACL injury. But Ica did not let that dampen her spirits-she still enjoyed cheering...

JR Smith unhappy with second snub

When Rajon Rondo went down for the season, the Knicks guard thought he had a real shot to be named as his All-Star replacement, but alas, it just was not meant to be.

Boston Celtics Win Easy

The Celtics win easy going away 97-84 against the Orlando Magic. Paul Pierce had 14 points on 5-10 shooting with 11 rebounds and 7 assist. Jeff Green had 17 points with 3 blocks coming off the bench. The Celtics are on a 3 game winning streak without Rondo, lets hope we can keep this going through out the season. The Celtics win easy going away 97-84 against the Orlando Magic. Paul...

Celtics-Magic Live: Jeff Green, Celts Try to Keep Rolling Without Rajon Rondo

8 a.m. ET: So far, so good for the Celtics without their All-Star point guard. They are 2-0 since Rajon Rondo went down for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, although just 1-0 since they actually learned of the injury. (Aside from Doc Rivers and a few people on the medical staff, nobody knew of Rondo’s diagnosis until after Sunday’s win over the Heat.) The Celtics...

Celtics send Magic to 8th straight loss

BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett each had a double-double, and the Boston Celtics responded to yet another blow to their lineup with a 97-84 win Friday night over the Orlando Magic, who lost their eighth straight game. Pierce had 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists despite sitting out the fourth quarter. Garnett finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics...

Next man up: Boston Celtics breeze by Orlando Magic 97-84

With tonight’s victory over the Orlando Magic the Celtics have won three in a row and clawed their way back to .500. Forgive me if I’m not all sunshine and duck boats, but I don’t think wins over the Sacramento Kings and the Orlando Magic (without Glen Davis and Aaron Afflalo!) tell us anything about where this team stands after the loss of Rajon Rondo (and now Jared Sullinger...

Gasol, Lakers outlast Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Paul Pierce scored 22 points and the Boston Celtics held off a late comeback to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 106-104 on Sunday and improve to 4-0 since losing Rajon Rondo for the season. The Clippers had pulled within 103-101 on a 3-pointer by Eric Bledsoe with 56 seconds remaining. But Avery Bradley drew an offensive foul on Los Angeles' Jamal Crawford...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/1

What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints.   Seems like they are in every thread.  Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games.   I was stuck with the Magic feed last night.  I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong.   I've highlighted my favorites.  What...
