MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Jamal Crawford scored 22 points, Blake Griffin added 20 and the Los Angeles Clippers hardly broke a sweat in cruising to a 90-77 victory over the free-falling Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night. Lamar Odom grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists, and the Clippers outscored Minnesota's bench 45-23 to overcome Chris Paul's third straight missed game because of a knee injury. Luke Ridnour scored 21 points and Ricky Rubio had four points and six assists in his first start of the season for the Timberwolves, who lost leading scorer and rebounder Nikola Pekovic to a bruised right quadriceps in the third quarter. The Timberwolves shot just 35.7 percent and missed 15 of their 19 3-pointers in losing their fifth straight game. Even without their MVP candidate out there to steer the ship over the last few games, the Clippers have been humming right along. Backup Eric Bledsoe clearly has been watching how Paul goes about his business because the thi...

The Los Angeles Clippers have ruled point guard Chris Paul out for Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It marks the third consecutive game Paul has missed with a bruised right knee cap. Loves rehab under close watch in NY

MINNEAPOLIS Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, who underwent surgery on the broken third and fourth metacarpals in his right hand on Tuesday, will remain in New York for the near term to begin his rehab. Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn was in New York with Love on Tuesday and visited with him after the surgery. He said the power forward began his rehab program...

Kahn: Adelman wont return in the near term

MINNEAPOLIS Don't expect to see Rick Adelman stalking the sideline of a Minnesota Timberwolves game in the near future. The coach, who has missed the team's past six games, has been on a leave while his wife, Mary Kay, is hospitalized. On Friday, the 12th day of Adelman's absence, Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said he does not expect the...

Ricky Rubio Only Gets Backboard On A Layup

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been hit by the injury bug awfully hard this season. Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love, the team’s two lead players, have both missed significant time, with Love currently sidelined and Rubio still trying to find his rhythm. It’s clear the Rubio isn’t at the top of his game right now, and understandably so, coming off of a major knee injury. And if...

Rubio back in starting lineup for Timberwolves

Ricky Rubio is back where he belongs - in the starting lineup for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spanish point guard got the start on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, the first time he's been on the court for the opening tip since he tore two ligaments in his left knee last March. Rubio missed nine months with the injury and has been on restricted minutes since...

Wolves addressing third-quarter problems

MINNEAPOLIS En route to their 90-77 loss against the Clippers on Thursday, the Timberwolves were outscored 21-20 in the third quarter and entered the game's final frame down by five points. That hardly sounds ideal, but for the Timberwolves, it was a step in the right direction. Ever since returning from its four-game, four-loss southern road trip, the team has had an acute...

Clippers-Timberwolves Preview

Having passed a pair of difficult road tests, the Los Angeles Clippers haven't missed a beat without their All-Star point guard. The Clippers might have to try for their third straight win without Chris Paul on Thursday night when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have lost five of six without star Kevin Love. After missing the past two games with a bruised right kneecap...

Ricky Rubio Says Teammates Have To ‘Start Doing A Better Job’

“It’s tough,” Rubio said after the game. “I mean, I’m not going to hide. It’s tough when you’re playing, and there’s no more bodies over there. You have to remain doing new things every single game, and we can’t get the rhythm. But that’s no excuse. We are professionals. I think that players that are healthy have to step up and start doing a better job.” ...
