Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Unlike a lot of people, after last night's loss, I'm not ready to bury the Celtics just yet. They are down 0-2 but they are going home, where they play much better. If they can win their home games, it's tied 2-2 and then they just need to steal one game out of the 2 left in NY. I agree with Doc that the fouls on KG were horrendous and even the Knicks fans recognized that fact. Many admitted that they got the benefit of the calls. Doc's game plan was to get the ball to KG early and often but KG couldn't stay on the court or be aggressive because of foul calls, several of which were bogus. I'm not giving up on the Celtics because they won't give up. . In the meantime enjoy today's comments and think of how much fun they will be when the Celtics win game 3....
Doc Rivers sounding very complimentary of the Knicks roster and approach. He is a class act and a very good coach.
Want to eat this teams lunch, hate them.
Game 2 is the time to stop on their necks and rip their heart out.
Boston is dead, it's up to the Knicks to decide when they plan on doing the burial.
Lets hope JET continues his brickfest.
I was told that Boston ends up putting knicks on their heels in this series and makes it go 6 or 7 games. We need this series to be tough to get us ready for pacers then heat.
Lol...I'm sure the NBA will probably force them to play a game 9 so they can showcase the Celtics greatness.
I really couldn't stomach losing to these clowns, again, in our building. This is a gutted and old roster we're facing. I don't think Game 1 was impressive or bodes well at all. Quite the opposite.
If K-Mart flagrants Garnett at any point this game I will buy a round of drinks for every man, woman, child and/or creature on this thread. Believe it
If Novak flagrants Garnett at any point this game I will adopt all the puppies in the local kennel to save them all from euthanasia
Clothesline, stand over him Do the discount double check.
Let's talk about Prigioni pressuring Avery Bradley all over the court...I really think that'll be a nightmare for the kid. He's a pretty good SG, not a PG by any means.
Ticky tack fouls already. Wow
Refs trying to get us in early foul trouble...the fk..
Shump is gonna lock Green up.
Oh, I see how this is gonna go. **** DA refs
Refs trying to screw with us early Making sure Boston CANT lose this one too.
Bradley doesn't want the ball. Look at his handles.
Pablo needs to take it from him. I like that matchup
Why isnt Priggie bringing the ball up
Probably because Bradley's on him
I'll be honest. That was a bad foul call on KG. These refs are going to be baddd
That was a bad call on KG there. Refs bad in every way!
In all seriousness, that was not a foul on Garnett.
We getting some home cooking
These refs are absolutey terrible Brutal both ways. They don’t know what to call
So glad this isn't basketball Just refs playing
Avery Bradley just defended the **** outta jr
Bass is scary He’s capable of like an 18 point on 7-11 shooting type game.
The Celtics are such an easy team to defend. Green is the only dynamic player they have.
Refs are legit cheating right now. Right in front of our eyes.
refs have money on BOS
Did they just pull 3 random dudes off the street to ref this game?
Can someone explain to me what Tyson did to foul Pierce there?
Your not suppose put your hands on the elderly
Fouls are going both ways. Just calling it extremely tight.
I'm sure stern will try push this 7 since other 1st Rd series sux
Lol Rondo wants Bradley to pad his assists like him.
KNICKS 7TH MAN OF THE YEAR JASON TERRY IS IN!!!
Can Camby foul a ref? It would be the first useful thing he’s done all year
Lots of fouls favor us. We’re much deeper.
So refs are going to let Celtic do whatever they want?????
Shut the F*** up, Doc. Celts are getting away with murder on an away court.
He is so spoiled
Can Pierce ever get called for traveling?
He did earlier in the quarter. Then the refs realize the Celts were losing.
Yo pierce I know you're old but you still gotta dribble
KG would have to kill a guy to get a foul right now.
Novak and Cope are terrible they need to be permabenched for the rest of the game.
I don’t like this at all. Their bad players from game 1 are waking up, and ours aren’t.
Jason Terry deciding he doesn't suck anymore
Was that a "KG sucks" chant?
I hate the Celtics but that was an absolutely SICK catch by Green on the alley.
Why does Doc Rivers sound like he smokes 3 packs of menthols a day and mines coal at night?
Celtics look unflappable. Knicks look flapped
I never liked Jason Terry
Celtics can't pull away from us even when they're clicking Make some adjustments, blast em in the 2nd half
Hey Tyson it's the ****ing playoffs how about doing something. The guy played like **** last playoffs and blamed the flu. Now it's the neck. Awesome.
BOS shouldn't have been allowed to stay in NYC and get access to our tap water
Melo is playing like a ball hog, this is all his fault
We're getting a lot of help from the refs tonight, let's take advantage of that.
But prigs back in Jkidd is not a PG
Novak is the very definition of useless.
We suck can't put these weak ass scrubs away
I can see why Woodson failed in the playoffs. When he gets there he reverts back to ISO ball. Not running plays and ISOing Melo so much is coming from the sidelines.
Maybe we can get by the 1st 2 rounds playing this way, but playing ISO ball vs Miami will get us swept.
Miami shouldn't be on anyone's minds. This team might get bounced by the Celtics.
Anyone notice Bass on that Felton drive, he wont leave Melo at all, we gotta adjust to that
Three Celtics starters in foul trouble.
It's over Boston. You guys are done.
Pierce looks weird without his headband.
C's whining to the refs
Get the fifth on Garnett, please!
It was nice of us to let Boston fans enjoy themselves for one half.
Yes, yes. More fouls on Pierce and Garnett.
Halftime adjustments are fun Maybe this mike woodson guy is a pretty good coach
Haha KG Sucks chants I'm loving this
Melo is playing like a beast again, take this confidence into Boston and have a good game there Friday, that would be huge
Hey, remember when everyone hated Melo 20 minutes ago?
there's still time left to hate melo again
Sore loser Garnett starting to act out.
He'll be bringing out the Honey Nut Cheerios soon.
KG sucks. Block on a desperation shot and he's talking smack.
KG need a taste of his own medicine, someone needs to flatten that punk
We burying these old corpses. Energy is off the charts on both ends, I gotta give Woody credit for firing them up at halftime.
Jordan Crawford the Dork just abused Novak
Novak go die
I strongly prefer Cope's brand of terrible
Jordan Crawford didn't just start scoring because he's any good
Jordan Chuckford THE TRUE SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR
5th on KG!
Getting key players in foul trouble is kinda fun.
Keep talking sh*t Garnett. You're not getting away with your dirty elbows and screens anymore
KG is going to be out That might improve their offense
We're in KG's head LOL
Refs are just ******** all over the Celtics I feel no sympathy
They'll get all the calls in Boston Might as well live it up now
I gotta admit As much as I'm loving this, the refs are really favoring us tonight. Doc is right to complain.
What you’re witnessing is that Celts aren’t getting away with murder as much.
Yo you see the block by. Martin. Grunwald Executive of the Year. Martin has been, by far, the best, 2nd half acquisition. No GM did better.
Paul Pierce sucks chants now!
Pierce looks done .....And old
Doc raises the white flag. Woody kicked his ass tonight.
Dam I never seen Celtics beat this bad.
Celtics really can't sustain offense for more than a half.
Damn it feels good to be a Knick fan right now.
LMAO 2 straight games Boston doesn't sniff 80
Lol Celtics broke their own record of a low of 25pts in the 2nd half in a consecutive game. INSANE
The Celtics are GARBAGE
KG rendered useless tonight.
KG still talking sh*t while he's on the bench. Dude doesn't stop mumbling that non-sense. F*ck that dirty clown.
Dude screwed himself tonight. He'll be ready for game 3 but without Rondo to create for him he's been mediocre. Just useless on the offensive end.
Ain't no mystic or mojo with these Celtics, just a bunch of chumps with no firepower.
KG is probably retiring after this.
AFTER THIS GAME???? PLEASE!
Meaning he will be a Knick next year or do we have to wait a year or two?
Ew no I don’t wanna love him
Man I doubted the K-Mart signing first time But he’s been awesome
I didn't really like those Boston suck chants Should really stick with the KG suck chants instead
it's not really the time for that Celtics suck would be better but I know the chant’s always been Boston sucks
Lol another franchise low for the Celtics
I'm guessing Boston is going to score 21 points in the 2nd half next game?
Doc probably just got himself fined. 'I thought 3 fouls on KG were horrendous and completely changed the game'
Gotta come out quick in game 3, crush any type of good feeling in that arena

No surprise here. In his third season, Bradley has quickly become one of the NBA's elite perimeter defenders. Bradley will definitely receive DPoY consideration and acknowledgment year...
NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced yesterday that the league was in fact fining Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers $25,000 for public criticism of officiating after Tuesday night's loss in game 2 to the New York Knicks. During a conference call on Wednesday, Rivers made comments eluding to the fact that he might hear from the...
Here's Doc Rivers media interview from Monday's practice courtesy of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics aim to even up the series vs the Knicks tomorrow night.
Doc Rivers says Kevin Garnett suffered a hip pointer in Game 2 against the Knicks. See the video evidence above.
The injury will not prevent KG from practicing or playing in Game 3. Shocking.
As for why Jordan Crawford is playing significant minutes over Courtney Lee, Doc said:
“I think offensively he gives you a better shot at it.”
On the team’s effort:
At the end of the day...
In Tuesday's Game 2 loss, Courtney Lee was on the floor for just 4 minutes. Fellow reserve guards Jason Terry (34 min) and Jordan Crawford (25) were the only Celtics bench players to get any significant court time. The Metro West Daily News' Scott Souza sent this tweet today from Celtics practice:
#Celtics coach Doc Rivers: Courtney Lee is not playing right now. Jordan...
Kevin Garnett walked over to the Boston bench, nursing a sore hip and Celtics coach Doc Rivers asked repeatedly if his big man needed a break.
It was going to take more than that to knock Garnett out of the playoffs.
''He's good. He's good to go,'' Rivers said Wednesday during a conference call with reporters. ''He'll practice tomorrow, and he...
What a weird coincidence, two losing teams sharing a hotel.
Boston.com reported that the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics shared the same hotel last weekend after they both got beat in their game 1's of their series.
‘‘This was a quiet, dark hotel last night. The New York-area teams didn’t treat the guests very well,’’ Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Sunday.
After collapsing in game 1, the Celtics will continue their first round series with the Knicks tonight at MSG. They need to win this one. A loss tonight would be a huge punch in the stomach. They need to focus for 48 minutes, not just 36. Here are tonight's five things:
5. MORE SHOTS FOR BASS:
In Game 1, Brandon Bass scored just four points on two-of-two shooting. If they are...
Boston and New York have a long and storied rivalry, and this year, the two cities will be adding to it on the hardwood.
As the Celtics and Knicks square off in a first-round playoff series, emotions will be sure to rise as the tension does. Paul Pierce and Carmelo Anthony will be doing their best to add another winning chapter to their team’s story of Boston vs. New York. However...
Hustle. Heart. Focus.
This is what the Celtics need from each and every player for the rest of this series. They're down 2-0 and there is no more room for errors. Absolutely none.
I really thought that the Celtics would be able to "flip the switch" now that it's the playoffs, but it looks like the bad habits they developed over the course of the season have...
The Celtics have dropped the first two games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs to an unrelenting Knicks team, and need to turn their play around if they plan to see the second round.
Injuries have plagued the Celtics season, forcing the team to overcome some adversity mid-season, and players like Jeff Green, Avery Bradley and Jason terry rose to the occasion...
Nathaniel S. Butler/NBAE/Getty Images Celtics’ lack of talent catching up with them Just last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder went down 0-2 before rallying to beat the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. That is unusual. So unusual in fact, that only 14 other teams in the history of the league have accomplished the feat. In the NBA, teams that lose the first...
Boston's need for a rim protector is becoming more and more blatantly obvious. This is the second in a (hopefully) long series of posts detailing Boston’s in-game sets and adjustments during the playoffs, featuring a positive and a negative from each game.Positive: Hand-off plays sparking penetrationOk, so by “hand-off plays sparking penetration,” I meant to say it in the...

The Boston Celtics have had a string of games where consistency is productive, but then there is that inconsistency, like the recent second half complications.
Doc Rivers’ team has always been accustomed to playing and preaching all four quarters, but in this series against the New York Knicks, they have struggled to compete the...
