Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints. Seems like they are in every thread. Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games. I was stuck with the Magic feed last night. I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong. I've highlighted my favorites. What are yours?
Baby's gonna come out on a wheelchair and prove his old team, and us, wrong.
Paul Pierce's wheelchair?
Not only is Rondo out for the season for Boston... …it was announced today that rookie forward Jared Sullinger underwent back surgery Friday and will also miss the rest of the season.
Right... Sullinger was red-flagged too before the draft because of his back
I’m glad the Magic didn’t draft him.
I liked him, but I’m glad that we got Nicholson over Sullinger. Mostly the same player, one has a back problem and the other doesn’t though.
Bradley is so pesky. I love it

Boston's Jared Sullinger had some medical red flags regarding his back coming out of Ohio State, and now that injury will prematurely end his rookie NBA campaign.

After months of mocking the red flags that caused Jared Sullinger to drop to the Celtics in the NBA draft, it appears fears over Jared Sullinger’s back were legitimate.
Sullinger, who pulled...

I was trying to maintain optimism after the Rondo injury, this one takes a lot of wind out my sails.
Not even a week after losing their All-Star point guard, Rajon Rondo to an ACL injury, the Celtics have now lost their promising rookie forward to a season-ending back injury. Sullinger underwent successful lumbar disc surgery Friday and is expected back at the start of next year’s training camp.

BOSTON — Paul Pierce’s shot went through the hoop and the crowd erupted, cheering wildly for a fourth straight victory by the Celtics. Amid the cheers, though, there had to be quite a few folks just sighing in relief, because this game turned out to be a lot more interesting than it had to be.
Before Pierce’s 3-pointer nestled into the net with 2.5 seconds remaining to clinch...
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports has some more bad news for Celtics fans. Wojnarowski is reporting that Celtics promising rookie big man Jared Sullinger will miss the rest of the season with a back injury.
We will have more information for our readers as the news comes out, but the news just got worst in Boston.
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“We have two open roster spots, which we will use when it’s all said and done,” said Ainge. “So three weeks from now, we will have 13 contracts. But we’re not in a rush yet. We have trade possibilities...
Paul Pierce came up big late against the ClippersI know two things to be true about the 2013 Celtics. The first: If something is too good to be true (ie. a first half offensive explosion and lockdown defense), it likely is. The second: No lead is safe, specifically no lead under 20.Boston tried VERY hard to lose the game in the fourth quarter this afternoon, blowing all but two points...
In his weekly appearance on WEEI’s Big Show, Celtics president Danny Ainge spoke openly about the state of his team. He made two things clear following Rajon Rondo‘s season-ending ACL injury: 1) “It’s silly” to think they’ll be better without him and 2) Paul Pierce trades haven’t been discussed.
“Nothing with Paul has been discussed,” said Ainge. “I too would...
The Celtics, now 23-23, will play their toughest game this week tomorrow afternoon against the Clippers. The Clippers are a terrific 34-14 and third place in the western conference. Personally, I think they are the favorite to win the title. Remember, there's no Jared Sullinger, so it'll be tough. Here are tomorrow's five things:
5. KEEP BARBOSA HOT:
Perhaps team captain Paul Pierce said it best after last Sunday’s thrilling and gritty 102-100 2OT win over the defending champion Miami Heat on national TV…When told that Rondo had a torn ACL that would sideline him for the season Pierce expressed his frustration and then immediately stated…”Guys are gonna have to step up! That’s all I can say!”
Luckily, step up is exactly...
By Mike Shalin, The Sports Xchange BOSTON -- The short-handed Celtics won their third straight game Friday night, cruising to a 97-84 victory over the woeful Magic. Five days after he and his team learned Rajon Rondo would be lost for the season, rookie Jared Sullinger underwent back surgery and also will be lost for the year. But after beating Miami in double overtime Sunday...
