Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
I don't think I've ever seen fans complain so much about the officiating BEFORE the game even began. They were so certain that the Celtics would get all the calls. Then, it was pretty funny because they clearly got a lot of calls go their way. I have highlighted my favorite comments. What are yours?
This is a winnable game with the Celtics not having good chemistry early in the season.
Celts are coming together. Don't believe the hype. Unless they have some sort of inexplicable letdown the way that did last year when we played them at the ACC I'd expect this to be a loss
For some reason I like when Bargnani destroys the Celtics, hopefully it will happen this game.
Celtics are like the darling veteran team of the league. KG gonna stab Val in the kidneys with a shiv and no call.
If Rondo is out we're gonna smoke these old turds.
This is a guaranteed win. DeRozan is going to destroy Terry... Hes 35 and short as hell, can either post him up or blow by him. Terry or Barbosa can't stop DeRozan. Also I think we will suffocate Barbosa & he won't be able to get things rolling.
I am a little lost. Who exactly is going to stop terry and barbosa?
You underestimate Terry as most do for some reason and Imo Barbosa will torch us.
KG is going to trash talk Valanciunas to death. This should be interesting to watch. Lol
No he isn't otherwise his dentures will fall out. He's so old he's probably suffering from dementia and osteoporosis.
KG is the biggest dick in the NBA. It's a pity I couldn't find a good quality video of Anthony Peeler giving him an elbow in his face. I hope he tears both ACLs today.
I just want to see Jonas piss off KG with his hustle, and then Kleiza comes in to get in his face... Then both get ejected
Our match-ups with them are not bad.
But our match ups with the refs arent.
Can't wait to see Jonas vs KG. You know Garnet will be getting away with a lot of fouls against the rookie.
Hey Rondo, please sit this one out. I think you need to rest up that ankle
C's' got robbed by the refs vs the Nets, make up calls are on order.
Barbosa is killing it with the Celtics right now. What did we get in return for that trade again? Oh yeah Tomoslav Zubcic, right.
I hope DeRozan dunks on that scum bag KG.
Damn. Rondo playing means its basically a scrimmage game for Boston against a summer league team. We're ****
Good thing Ray Allen is not here to own us as usual.
KG is maybe one of the dirtiest players in the league, if not the dirtiest. He's also a poor sport. Didn't he call Charlie V a cancer patient.
Gonna be a tough test for the Raps. Can't wait to be *******Ed by the refs.
We got lucky the refs didn't call a foul on the tip-off
That was a flop on garnett
Refs off to a fantastic start as usual (At this point Celtics 1 FT, Raptors 3 FT/ C's 4 fouls, Raptors 3 fouls)
Holy **** bargnani.. Wow you suck
The worst feeling is knowing that these upper echelon teams are not even putting in 100%.
Looking at the trash on the floor right now compared to Boston makes me think we are insane
For keeping Colangelo for 7 years now.
WTF is Jose doing.. Playing Scared of the Celtics. All those years of KG talking smack has gotten to him
Rondo has 7 assists already? Wtf? They have to be padding his assist total. (I ain't complanin tho since he's on my fantasy team)
Seriously...have you ever seen a team that whines as much as the Celtics ? I want to reach thru my screen and b**ch slap some of these *******
I love watching rondo play... The guy is an assist specialist
I actually think Bargnani is retarded
KG just did a moving screen, ref is too blind to see it.
Man, if even Sullinger kills us…
Big Sullinger fan – think he’ll be pretty solid, and a GREAT value that late
Someone needs to put KG on his old ass hard/
LOL at us coming back in this game. We're lulling the Celtics to sleep
We've put them in a sleeper lock, and they're fading
Lol, getting postered by a 50 year old.
Getting posterized by Pierce. That's really something..
How are we letting them get so open?
Cause we suck?
Wow the officiating was been pretty solid today overal...impressed with this crew (Raptors 13 FT, C's 6)
Tommy H disagrees but what's new. He was calling for DeMar to be fined for flopping when Bass tried to spin his way into the paint and got called for the charge.
I can't wait till KG retires
Oh Tommy never change
It seemed to me they were trying to avoid a blow out in the 2nd. We had a couple calls go our way.
KG should get a fine for flopping there. That was simply brutal.
Val pushed kg with his arm a bit when he was goin to the bench, and kg had somethin to say surprised refs didn't say nothing.
KG, what a player.
Man rondo is good.
Paul Pierce is one of those players I'm really not going to miss
Its REFS TIME!!!! Watch all the calls from this point on!
Can't believe we are getting so many calls...so that's how Miami feels
Celtics are a different club at both ends when KG’s out there.
I am not a fan of his personality…but his game is awesome.
Just think he is a big mouth bully.
One of those guys you hate to play against – but absolutely love when he’s on your team.
Rondo has detroyed our terrible D. Just can't contain him.
Watching Bargnani makes me want to stab my eyeballs with chopsticks.
The Raps are a bit overmatched but the Celts, much to my chagrin, appear to be a good team again
Yep…and wait till they get Avery Bradley back… They are deep. Terry and Lee can replace Allen.
Well coached, well run. But they need to win with depth because KG and Pierce are not all stars anymore, only Rondo is and he can’t shoot. Interesting team to watch.
Jason Terry is a raptor killer
Sullinger beasting now!
You can't shut Sully down!
Has Rondo been in the paint once this game? Just dare him. Stick to your freakin' man and put that gremlin on the spot.
Good teams mail it in for most of the game against scrubby teams then turn up their intensity whenever they want. Lead got down to 2 and Celtics realized "lol, we're playing the f***ing Raptors".
Rather have Sully than Andrea.
Rondo with 19 assists... Nothing special lol
Effortless 19 assists, its like a scrimmage for him out there.
Rondo has more assists than our whole team.
I only have one question....why the **** am I still watching?
Rondo picked this team apart.
Boston is a much better basketball team. We cut it to 2, but then they took over. That's what good veteran teams do.
Boston is a better team, so this loss doesn't hurt as much

BEST OF MAXIM
The NOC has been putting out some great videos featuring Jason Terry. Here's the first part of a look at behind the scenes in making those videos.

Couple new Jason Terry videos by the NOC. Sorry, it took so long to post them. I was busy trying to escape a Keith Bogans head lock. 1st video the Jet shows off his parking attendant skills and then in the 2nd video he shows off his more natural mid range shooting skills.
BOSTON — Jason Terry is not the same old Jet this season. No matter what his shooting percentage may be, the transition in Boston after eight seasons in Dallas has not been seamless.
There have been single-digit scoring games, like when he failed to make a basket in a win over Utah. There have been games in which he has been underused, such as the win in Washington when he clocked...
Jason Terry scored 20 points and Rajon Rondo tied his season high with 20 assists as Boston beat Toronto 107-89 on Saturday.
Paul Pierce added 19 points and six rebounds and Kevin Garnett scored 15 for Boston, which took a 17-point lead in first quarter, then held off several runs by the Raptors before pulling away midway through the second half.
Rookie Jared Sullinger had his...
AUBURN HILLS- Tonight, the Celtics will cap off the weekend against the Detroit Pistons. Here are five things that the Celtics must do to win tonight:
5. PASS MORE OFTEN TO SULLINGER:
I was starting to lose faith in Jared Sullinger, but yesterday's performance changed everything. Yesterday, he had 12 points on 5/8 shooting and eleven rebounds. I think the C's should have...
Rajon Rondo returned from a 1-game injury absence to lead the Celtics past the Raptors 107-89 with 20 assists. Jason Terry (20) and Paul Pierce (19) paced the Celtics balanced scoring effort as the C’s finally put together a wire-to-wire shellacking this season. The green looked a bit green in the second quarter when they allowed Toronto to trim a quick 16-point lead to 5,...
Even though in a loss, I see improvement
Here is our second installment of the our CelticsLife 5 on 5, enjoy! Leave comments and post your own ideas below.
1. What is the biggest surprise so far? (Good or Bad)
Terry P: Our defense has gotten off to a rocky start. I know we don't have great individual defenders but our team defensively has always been great. I thought with...

Another Celtics win, another Green Envy. This one turned out to be pretty easy. It seemed like the Raptors were trying to get blown out in the first half but the Celtics would have none of it. Things were different from the third quarter onward. One thing to take from Raptors fans, they hate Andrea Bargnani. They really hate him. Some were debating whether or not he's legally...
The Celtics rode on Rajon Rondo’s 6th 20-assist night to cruise past the Raptors, 107-89. Also, Jason Terry led the way for the Celtics with 20 points and Jared Sullinger posted his first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Watch Jared Weiss of CLNS Radio get together with Celticsblog’s Jimmy Toscano and Evans [...]
In a Saturday matinee at the Garden, the Boston Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors 107 to 89 in an Atlantic Division matchup. The Green were up 16 early and shot 74% in the first quarter but the Raptors hung around and ended up making it a closer contest, but the game never really felt like it was in any doubt. Rajon Rondo returned from his twisted ankle that kept him out of Thursday...
After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value.
Offense: Defense: Overall:
The man had a great game… it’s that simple. There’s some debate over the validity of some of the 20 assists he had, but that doesn’t change the fact that a majority of them were very pretty passes...

If you forgot about this play from last night, you would be forgiven. After all, it happened right after this: That oop by Rondo was such an impressive play that it got it’s own bullet point in our recap, and it was the lede in Jay’s excellent story over at MassLive. So the defensive stand immediately following might not have even registered as a blip on most people’s radars...
