For sure these aren't as much fun when we lose, but regardless they give a good look into the psyche of the other side.  I've highlighted my favorites in bold.  What are yours?  We get another shot at these guys tonight, this time at home.  Hopefully we finally get a win against them.  It doesn't get any better than the Celtics versus the Sixers... Talk about a rich and hated history... I can't tell you how many times at the end of the day that the Celtics rained on my parade... They seemed to always be the team who would atke us out of the picture... Who knows how many more championships the Sixers own if not for these guys. If you are the Sixers you want to use your speed to get up and down the court on a older Celtics roster. Luckily for us tonight, the Celtics don't own a low post game so we shouldn't have a huge issue in the paint. We always step it up a notch when we play Boston. I expect a good game. I think we're going to need Lavoy to...

Should Rajon Rondo be playing in 15+ year old Basketball Shoes?

As CLNSRadio’s resident Sneakerhead (even though I despise that term), I couldn’t help but notice Rajon Rondo’s choice of footwear so far this season. Rajon Rondo is under contract to wear the products of Nike Basketball, and at times their subsidiary Jordan Brand. Last year he regularly wore the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer and the Nike [...]

Video: Highlights of Rondo's triple double in Philly

Here are the full highlights of Rajon Rondo's 16 point, 13 rebound, 14 assist triple double from Friday night in Philly. Rondo also chipped in 3 blocks and 3 steals for good measure. Videos courtesy of OfficialCelticsHD.

Dwight Howard and the Lakers are impressed by Rajon Rondo

According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...

Celtics Live Blog: Paul Pierce, C’s Return to TD Garden to Close Out Home-and-Home Set With Rival Sixers

8 a.m. ET: The Celtics are lucky to be playing at home Saturday, because they made need an extra pick-me-up from the home crowd. The Celtics will be playing their third game in four nights and their second straight game against the Sixers, a scrappy squad that has renewed its rivalry with Boston in the last two seasons. Although such a tight stretch of games normally would put Celtics...

Your Morning Dump… Where the final shot was designed for Kevin Garnett

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I should have taken the lay-up,” Rondo said. “But I tried to make a plant and just slipped.” Said Garnett: “I thought he had the lay-up. It was just unfortunate. I was indecisive. I should have been more...

Video: Rajon Rondo continues to fuel Celtics woes.

The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference. A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause. In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.  Please Click Here To Watch A Video Of Rondo's Key Mistake.

Turner takes over, Sixers overcome Rondo triple-double, beat Boston

PHILADELPHIA -- Rajon Rondo picked up another triple-double, but the Philadelphia 76ers picked up the win. Evan Turner, despite missing nine of his previous 10 shots, swished a 13-foot jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the Sixers past the Boston Celtics, 95-94, Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center. "I was just trying to get to my sweet spot on the court...

Regret and disapointment in Boston Celtics loss

Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments. “I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.” As an aside...

76ers nip Celtics in OT, 95-94

Celtics were up four at the half but after a lousy 3rd quarter, fell behind by as much as eight points.  Rajon Rondo showed why he's clearly  the Celtics' best player.  His all-around game becomes contagious and he nearly had a triple-double early in the second half (he'd achieve it later in the 3rd quarter).  But the Celtics comeback, which momentarily gave them...

Celtics-76ers Preview

Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday lead the Eastern Conference in assists and had no trouble racking them up the last time they met. The point guards will match up twice this weekend when Rondo's Boston Celtics and Holiday's 76ers begin a home-and-home set at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night. Boston's Rondo leads the NBA with 12.8 assists per game while Holiday is averaging...

Video: Russ Smith Following His Career High 31 Points

Russ Smith spoke to the media following his career high 31 point performance against UMKC. Russ said watching Rajon Rondo the day before helped motivate him to try and do more than just score points. Smith also had 7 rebounds, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

Enemy Chatter: The Celtics made a lot of shots

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Minnesota. “They were making a lot of shots,” Wolves coach Rick Adelman said. “I can’t tell you [what went wrong] until I look at it, but I thought we were playing well. But in the second half they took control.” Blame one man:...

Did Doc calling the Celtics soft help light a fire underneath them?

It's been eight days, and three games, since Doc Rivers called his team soft following their rather embarrassing loss at home against the Nets. Since then the team is 2-1, beating the Blazers by 18, losing in Milwaukee by 3 (both of these games without Rajon Rondo) and then beating the Timberwolves by 10 last night. More than just the results though, the team has played differently...

Video: Garden Report: Celtics Get Revenge on Sixers

Kevin Garnett doesn’t always need to grab rebounds for the Celtics to win. They beat the Sixers 92-79 even though their center didn’t snatch a single rebound. It was the first time since 1997 that happened. Paul Pierce contributed with nine assists and Jeff Green had 16 points off the bench.
