Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Good road win for the Celtics. The Sixers have had it rough with injuries this season. Poor Sixers fans want to root for a loss for more ping pong balls but they hate the Celtics so much that they are torn about it. Great game by Bradley. I've highlighted a few favorites. What are yours?
All the teams are tanking right now. Very hard to make progress in draft order. Every loss is important. Still don't know why we beat GS, and then we were happy about it.
I SOOOO want us to lose every game, but even I am debating hoping for a win because I despise the Celtics
I know that feeling... Its like supporting the tank route tonight would on some level require me to cheer for the Celtics.... I just don't think I can do it.
I don't care how bad our team may be this season. The disdain for the likes of Pierce, Garnett, and the rest of the green is strong.
F*** you, Boston and more specifically you, Danny Ainge.
Hey guys, let’s talk about everything “relevant” in basketball, oh and by the way, I guess there’s this sixers/Celtics game.
Garnett can score on hawes all day
Damn, so far Boston is making our team look decent… so they’re playing bad defense at the start of the game lol
it’s sad… but all I want right now is losses and lots of minutes for Moultrie… may be some decent showing sby Turner so we can get a good return in the offseason…
Too many Celtic fans here
Another Pearce foul.. Bye bye
Why is Wilkins taking shots? Why is he even playing, he sucks.
Definitely getting no whistles… Turner clearly got fouled, but oh well… losses .
This team is painful to watch
So thts not a foul? Guy had both hands on Evan's back they get a call tho
Its amazing how jrue and turner are allowed to get hammered and not get calls smh
Don't know what it is going to take.. There is an art to getting calls when you are not a superstar...
Just scream like ******** Paul pierce... Screaming alone will raise your fouled percentage atleast 20%
Turner screams like a ***** all the time tho
So holiday is doubled and ALL OUR GUYS JUST RUN TO A CORNER AND WATCH!?!?!?
Here's a question: If the Celtics and Knicks meet in the Playoffs, who are you rooting for (or against the most)? Personally I'd be siding more with Boston. I can't stand the Knicks players and their fans to a point where Boston doesn't bother me that much.
This would be a nightmare situation.....
It wouldn’t surprise me if KG’s FG% is over 70% when Hawes is guarding him
DID HOLIDAY SERIOUSLY NOT JUST GET A CALL THERE!??!?!??! HE LITERALLY GOT TOMAHAWKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy **** I hate nba refs omfg **** them all
Evan creates contact and still doesn't get the whistle. It might b his crying tht is killing him
Wow KG missed a shot with Hawes guarding him
Did you see KG grab his arm and hold on on EMT's last drive? Peeps have done jail time for less and - no call.
I know the Celtics fans have to love Avery Bradley. He's already one of the best defenders in the league, can shoot the ball a little and is a good athlete. He's definitley a nice player to have.
Bradley's defense is absolutely remarkable.
A nice start But the Celtics have taken control, I guess that’s not bad, unless, of course, the Sixers are still trying to make the playoffs, I’m not sure
“I don’t want to be questioning his work ethic, but it seems like he doesn’t want to play”- Shaq on Bynum, blatantly questioning his work ethic
Not saying he’s an idiot, but Shaq is dumber than the average person
Bradley still outplaying jrue
Paul Pierce=such a prick
the c’s look so lazy today
The Celts lull you away into a false sense of security
Please put us out of our misery Celts
Celtics make so many jumpers
So Avery Bradley can shoot?
They can pull baseball bats out and crack u upside our heads and the refs still wouldn't call anything
Now I know what the warriors felt like. The Celtics aren't playing well. They are just shooting out of their minds. Pierce is even going half speed and still getting by. He isn't putting any of his normal pressure on the d even.
Garnett scores over Hawes so effortlessly.
We have some nice bench players now all we need is some starters
1-6 from the line right now
Yep, you dont’ make free throws if you don’t get a lot of practice in game-situations, I guess
Avery Bradley foils the Sixers again :(
Sorry guys – Moultrie is taking us to the playoffs.
If the Sixers are a tank...Moultrie is our helicopter…
Are the Celtics TOYING with Philly? Moultrie looking GOOD.
Moultrie should be benched. Doesn't he know bigs are supposed to shoot long twos and flail around a lot. He has a lot to learn
I know we want to tank but tanking shouldn’t come at the cost of Moultrie’s development. If he turns out to be pretty darn good it’d be worth it.
ET plays like he has no brain.
I'm telling you guys Doug is trying to tank when the game gets close he takes out jrue
No idea why Hawes is playing...
3-point shooting ability. Gotta get back in the game, bro.
Not sure if youre serious
Now all the other bottom feeders have to start winning… its no use of us losing if they keep losing too…
Screw you Pierce Thanks for the lotto balls though
Pierce loves to do this to us
he’s actually helping us. Celtics are mediocre, first round cannon fodder. We’ll get a lottery pick.
Oh, it’s appreciated. Just seems like he really loves to not miss against us.
Somebody tell me wht a foul is...we r attacking the rim but whistles r silent
We are 4 games from the 3rd pick... With a loss we go to 3.5 games from the 3rd pick... And with Atlanta and Miami up next the sky is the limit lol.
Yeah they need to do the Paul Pierce arm flail and yell.
Atlanta and Miami next :) I was scared that we might win this one but good thing the Celts came to play.
Dorell Wright's horrible turnover leads to a Pierce 3. Wright is a garbage player.
Can we please have Andrew Bynum injure Dorrell Wright? Were paying him a lot of money. He needs to do something to help this team.
Dorell Wright : Ping Pong Ball Saver
Hard to hide the fact that Boston is a better team, but the sixers are game tonight. That's better than some of the games earlier in the season where the sixers would fold up and get down by 28.
The sixers have no chance at winning so why isnt Moultrie in?
Then we’ll have a chance of winning. Can’t let him in until it’s 0.01 secs left.
This is a victory #Tankmode
Also really bad that Ivey just got heckled for an airball at home. Probably was faux-Celtics fans, but still.
100 pts would be a good consolation BIG MACS
Well we lost and scored 101… I hear ping pong balls bouncing
Now to see the lakers fall back below .500

WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
This is one of the better huddle-bombs you’re going to see. Pierce doesn’t even try to sneak in…. he just walks right up brazenly, right past Spencer Hawes, who looks directly at him, and drapes his arm around two Sixers to listen in on the last few seconds. It’s so great, none of the Sixers even get pissed. It’s like the end of an old Mentos commercial when everyone...
According to Forsberg of the worldwide leader local branch, Paul Pierce is now battling a bone bruise on his left knee. He suffered the injury in Philly, but it appeared to affect his play last night in Indiana shooting just 4 of 15 for just 13 points. He did play 34 minutes which is a good sign, but was seen with an ice pack on his knee in postgame interviews. I wouldn’t expect...
The Game Changer, Avery Bradley, had his best performance of the year last night as he registered season highs of 22 points (on 10-of-15 shooting), 7 rebounds and 5 assists in leading the C's to a convincing 109-101 road victory over the Sixers. Not to mention AB's tenacious, hound-like D on Jrue Holiday (18 points on only 6-of-17 shooting) and the overall energy he pumped...
Paul Pierce had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Avery Bradley scored 22 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 109-101 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
Kevin Garnett scored 18 points to help the Celtics continued their push up the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics entered in seventh, but were no more than two games behind the next three teams ahead in the...

Avery Bradley has always been known to be a knack on the defensive end — whether it is on-ball defending or full-court rundown blocks — but Tuesday’s 22-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers was a true testament to his demeanor.
Last year in his rookie campaign, he wasn’t able to flourish mainly due to multiple shoulder...
Who is Rajon Rondo? Is he part of the Boston Celtics' future?
When you look at him, you see a talent that has never been seen before. He brings his own way of doing things and doesn't take advice from anyone.
He will tell you he that he is the best point guard in the league and you in turn will think he is full of himself. To be in the league, you have to feel that...
Avery Bradley broke out with 22 points while Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett each logged less than 30 minutes, so any criticism of the Celtics’ victory over the Sixers on Tuesday needs to be tempered with those three facts. Any time Doc Rivers‘ guys can earn a “W” without forcing their aging All-Stars to carry a heavy load — particularly on the first leg of a road back-to...
The Celtics entered tonight's game in Philadelphia in a very intriguing position in the Eastern Conference playoff race. While the Miami Heat are certainly out of reach, and the Pacers and Knicks are in great position to grab the #2 and 3 seeds - the Celtics suddenly found themselves just one game back in the loss column of the Bulls, Hawks, and Nets. So while they have been...
Thanks to New England Sports Network’s Celtics writer Ben Watanabe, I chimed in with the Boston Celtics’ duo — Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett — to discuss their progression in the 2013 season as well as a preview of how this season and beyond may pan out.
In the NBA, practice is the most important aspect for young guys, but for the older class players, like No. 34 and No....
There is a famous scene in “Star Wars: A New Hope” where Han Solo and Chewbacca are fleeing from an angry and clumsy group of Stormtroopers trying to make their way to the Milennium Falcon. As they are running down the corridor, you can hear one of the troopers yell ‘CLOSE THE BLAST DOORS!’ As the doors are slowly closing, Han and Chewie hop through cleanly, leaving all...
Finally, Doc Rivers listens to the fans and calls a play at the end of the game that isn't just a Paul Pierce iso. And it was awesome.
Best win of the year? Best play of the year? Yes on both accounts.

Let me be honest: This game was billed as a potential playoff preview but Indiana is a team I’d rather avoid. The Pacers are a very good team, probably the only real challenger to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. A Celtics-Pacers series sounds like a more graceful version of last year’s grindy Celtics-76ers tilt, except this time the odds wouldn’t be in the Celtics...
3:26 p.m.: Nobody in Philly seems particularly optimistic about Bynum suiting up this season.
Bob Ford of the Philadelphia Inquirer joined the chorus on Tuesday with a revealing column on the big man, who seems even farther from playing for the Sixers — ever — after saying last week that he would not play with pain. Sixers beat reporters found this little detail, uh, interesting...
The C’s pulled out an ugly 109-101 win over the 76ers, much to the happiness of the Sixer fans. Most of the fans were rooting for a loss to try and land some favorable Ping-Pong balls for the upcoming draft. The majority of comments were bashing Turner/Hawes and praising Moultrie and a lot of them were pretty witty. Continue on to check the misery of 6er Nation.
Saddled with a grueling road-heavy schedule, things haven't come easy for the Boston Celtics since the All-Star break.
That's also been the case when they've had to travel to Philadelphia.
The Celtics will be coming off a much-needed three-day layoff when they attempt to end their road struggles against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
Boston (31-27) dropped...
