PLAYERS: Courtney Lee
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Photo courtesy of NBA.com BOSTON--  With the Celtics down in a 0-3 hole, times are tough on Legends Way. Everyone involved with the Celtics, from the fans to the players and coaches has a feeling of desperation as they try  to come back from a difficult deficit.  That includes shooting guard Courtney Lee, who was interacting with fans on his Twitter all Saturday afternoon. He responded to many of the fans’ questions and one response of his was particularly interesting. I’ m sorry bout that haven't been out there as much as I would like. Lee has played in all three games this series, averaging 11.7 minutes and 2.8 points per game.  Boston’s next game is at 1:00 PM tomorrow at the Garden, and from the sounds of it, he is unhappy with his playing time. At this point, Boston needs a spark and if he would be a candidate to provide one. In what has been a very frustrating series for the Celtics, the players are feeling very unsatisfied. Celtics fans hope that the team’s tense energy w...

Jason Terry: “I’m coming out with something”

Celtics sharp off-the-mark shooter Jason Terry refused to comment on the elbow thrown by punk JR Smith during last night’s game. Terry had this to say about the Celtics “fight:” “We’ve just got to fight harder than what we’ve been doing,” Terry said. “I mean, they’re outworking us. You can see it on the tape. Their energy is much better than ours. Offensively, their...

Boston Celtics: No Way They Trade Rajon Rondo Now

After Rajon Rondo tore his ACL and the Boston Celtics went on their mini run, many around the country and in Boston thought that the team could win without Rondo, that they might actually be better without him and that they should trade him and move on from him. The league leader in assists for two straight years should feel quite comfortable with his place in Boston now, with the...

Pierce Comes Alive as Celtics Lead Knicks 54-35 at the Half

BOSTON – The tables have turned in the first half in Game 4, as the Knicks failed to reach 20 points in either quarter and trail the Celtics 54-35 at the half. Paul Pierce exploded at the end of the half to open up the 17 points lead with 17 points of his own and eight of them coming in the last few plays of the half. After starting 2-for-5 in the first, Pierce hit all four of...

Doc Rivers delivers a spanking to Jeff Green’s backside

Sometimes, the only way that an NBA head coach can get through to a player is to show a sign of force. In the third quarter of the Boston Celtics game four victory over the New York Knicks, Celtics head coach Doc Rivers decided to deliver a rather hard spanking to the backside of Celtics forward Jeff Green:   *** Jeff Green gets spanked by Doc Rivers [SB Nation]

Doc Rivers Fined for Criticizing Referees, Called Fouls on Kevin Garnett in Game 2 ‘Horrendous’

Nobody in green was on very good terms with the officials after Tuesday’s Game 2 in New York, and now Celtics coach Doc Rivers will find a deduction from his next paycheck. Rivers was fined $25,000 for publicly criticizing the officials, the NBA announced Thursday. After Kevin Garnett was whistled for five fouls in the Celtics’ 87-71 loss to the Knicks, Rivers called the fouls...

Garden Report: Celtics Live to Fight Another Day

The Celtics had a really strong first half (where they outscored the Knicks 54-35), but had their usual second half meltdown and were forced to go to OT and rely on Jason Terry (18 pts, 7-10 FG and the last nine points) to win Game 4 97-90 and force Game 5.  Jared Weiss, Jimmy Toscano and Evans Clinchy break down the action.

Boston Celtics Force Game 5 in a Dogfight with New York Knicks

BOSTON --  In a game they had to have, the Boston Celtics came out with a passion and aggression        that we had not seen from them in the playoffs thus far.  They beat the New York Knicks 97-90 in game four of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Sunday.   With J.R. Smith suspended for hitting Jason Terry in the face with his elbow in game three, New York found themselves...

Three at the Buzzer: Celtics Get Buried on a 0-3 Hole

To say nothing worked for the Celtics is an understatement.  Despite an emotional comeback to Boston, it seemed that the New York Knicks were still playin in the Madison Square Garden, beating the Celtics 90-76 to take a 3-0 lead in the series.  CLNS Radio's own Jared Weiss recaps the loss.

Recap: Not in our house

Behind a huge OT from Jason Terry, some Truth heroics and Brandon Bass’ tough defense on ‘Melo, Celts avoid the sweep today. After watching a double-digit lead vanish (what is else is new), the C’s fought through some awful officiating, terrible offense of their own and beat the Knicks 97-90 in OT. Without JR Smith, the Knicks struggled to find much of an offense, until late...

Live Game Updates - Game 4

After one quarter in Boston, the Celtics are ahead 22-17. They just look really good right now. Everybody's contributing. If they keep playing this, then they'll be back in New York in no time. Jeff Green has 6 points.

KG battling hip injury on top of ankle bone spurs

I’m concerned you guys. Once I saw Kevin Garnett grab is hip in game 2’s loss I knew we were in for a whole heap of hurt, no pun intended. This team’s playoff run will live and die with KG, who at age 36 the bumps and bruises take a little bit longer to heal regardless of if you’re a 6’11 badass. In Jackie Mac’s piece yesterday, which the great Vandeusen wrote about here...

Didn't see this coming

If you told any Celtic fan before the season that Boston would be down 0-3 in the 1st round of the playoffs, they would laugh at the thought. If you told any Celtic fan that they would be down 0-3 against Atlantic division rival Knicks, they would probably laugh even harder. Now it's the reality that nobody expected. The Celtics face the daunting task of attempting to win 4 straight...

Do or Die in Beantown Tomorrow

The Boston Celtics' title hopes are on the line tomorrow as they head into Game 4 down three games to none to the New York Knicks. Fortunately for the Celtics, the Knicks will be without Sixth Man of the Year, JR Smith. Smith was suspended for Game 4 after he hit Jason Terry in the face with an elbow midway through the fourth quarter of Game 3. Hopefully the Cs will be able to...

Celtics Blowing 20-Point Lead at Home Puts Damper on Emotion of Game 4 Victory

BOSTON — There was an odd vibe after the buzzer sounded at TD Garden on Sunday, after the Celtics had outlasted the Knicks in overtime to postpone playoff elimination. Both teams were upbeat and hopeful, which is seldom the case after a hard-fought playoff game. At the podium, Raymond Felton sat confidently saying how much he looks forward to Wednesday’s Game 5 in New York. In...
