In case you may have forgotten, Jerry Stackhouse is still an active member of the NBA. He’s spent this season cloaked in obscurity on the Atlanta Hawks’ bench. Stack isn’t an integral member of the Hawks. Hell, he’s hardly gotten playing time this year. But he’s still a member of the Hawks, no less. You’d think he’d keep that in mind when he made playoff predictions on his website Thursday. Let’s just say Stackhouse was a little too honest: I am clearly planning for Atlanta to be in the Finals — if I put on my analyst hat, however, if we are looking at the personnel and everything that’s going on during these playoffs, I have to take Miami to win it all. Miami is the favorite to come out of the East, and I’m not counting out the Lakers in the West the way Ramon Sessions and Kobe Bryant are playing. I don’t know about you, but that’s not the way I would be planning for my team to be in the finals. The honesty is nice, but where’s the loyalty? If you were to ask JaVale McGee… actua

Jerry Stackhouse picks the Heat to win NBA Title

Oh by the way…Jerry Stackhouse is still playing in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks, who are currently tied at a game a piece with the Boston Celtics in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs.  I have to believe that his teammates must be loving that he picked the Heat to win it all. [...]

Hawks Josh Smith doubtful for Game 3

BOSTON- The Atlanta Hawks are listing Josh Smith as doubtful for Game 3 of their playoff battle against the Celtics in Boston. After the Celtics tied the series at one game apiece on Tuesday night in Atlanta, the Hawks are now struggling for answers as they now will be without Smith, Zaza Pachulia (foot) and Al Horford (pectoral). Smith’s official prognosis is that he has patellar...

Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he feels as though Carmelo Anthony needs to be in better shape heading into next season for New York to be successful.

Josh Smith is not limping

Here's an update on Hawks forward Josh Smith. I'll use my deductive reasoning abilities to say no limp = will play. If Smith can't go, Marvin Williams and Tracy McGrady will see time at power forward, reports CBS Sports.  The real reason I'm posting this tweet is to poke fun at James Winfro, a delusional Hawks fan who thinks more time for Vladimir Radmanovic...

Josh Smith reportedly out for Game 3

Expect a lot of Jason Collins, Ivan Johnson and Marvin Williams tonight for the Hawks. Or in other words, Atlanta’s loss of Smith is really going to hurt.

Hawks' Josh Smith ruled out for Game 3

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has been ruled out of Friday night's playoff game against the Boston Celtics due to soreness in his left knee, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Your Morning Dump... The Hawks are swarming KG

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “We’ve got to establish him more,’’ Rivers said of Garnett. “We’ve got to get bodies off him. They’re putting bodies on him, knocking him around, and we’ve got to do a better job as a staff...

Boston Celtics topple Atlanta Hawks in OT 90-84

Rondo scored five of his 17 points in overtime on Friday and recorded a triple-double in pushing the Boston Celtics over the Atlanta Hawks 90-84. Celtics survive overtime thriller with 90-84 victory over the Atlanta Hawks

Boston squeezed out a win in overtime over the Atlanta Hawks,  90-84.  This series has been one where the team that should have won has lost or nearly lost, with Boston taking game two without Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen while barely winning at full strength and Atlanta missing Joe Johnson. This whole series has been neck and neck.  Game three was no different as both teams...

An odd Game 3 included Rajon Rondo’s strange triple-double

Jason Collins made an instant offensive impact, Erick Dampier and Tracy McGrady played key roles, Rajon Rondo slipped and fell on a fast break with nobody in his path, Willie Green took Atlanta’s most critical shot, and I sat there watching everything unfold, wary of Boston’s raggedy play yet reveling in the oddities of it all.If Penny Hardaway had grabbed a knee brace, checked...

This portly fellow’s epic trampoline dunk fail is too good to be true (animated GIF)

I cannot say when this brilliant piece of animated GIF goodness occurred, where (although I believe that’s the Atlanta Hawks logo on the mat) or if this rather sizable chap was actually attempting to dunk the ball or it was setup played for laughs, but either way, I laughed. And then I laughed again. [...]

Celtics 90, Hawks 84: All wins counts the same, thankfully

I’m still not sure exactly how an 11-point lead dissolved into a tie game in less than three milliseconds, but only a cruel god would have subjected us to five extra minutes of that sludge. Thankfully, the Celtics prevailed in overtime against an Atlanta Hawks team that brought a lot of effort if not a lot of talented players healthy enough to compete. For all the interesting...
