Found February 13, 2013 on Celtics Life:
Danny Ainge must be spending more time in his office right now than in his house, spending more time glued to the phone than trying to get something to eat. I can picture him already as a second version of Doctor House standing close to a whiteboard with a marker and asking for opinion to his staff for options to fill up the roster. The Celtics have only 10 players available, with one player already being a NBDL project in Fab Melo. Consider this the start of a more than intense period of eight days until the trade deadline, which could also be extending to the period after it in which teams release some free agents. So Danny, get ready for a good catering service, some pizza ordering or some tupper-ware madness until the month of March. And also, make sure your position while speaking on the phone is the correct one, you may forget that you will be actually speaking on the phone while sleeping in the office. Humorous comments aside, the Celtics are active looking for help. And Ai...

Your Morning Dump… Where borders will not restrain Danny Ainge’s PG search

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “All three of them are real blows to us,” said Ainge. “First of all, we lose our star player and then Jared and then Barbosa. That’s devastating. We’re short on guards now, and we have to bring someone...

Winning with 8 guys: replace Leandro Barbosa with Jeff Green

Jeff Green is picking the right time to flourish. The Celtics roster now consists of 10 healthy bodies.  Shockingly they have the most depth at center (4 of the 10); however one of them (Fab Melo) has no business being out of the D-League, and another (Jason Collins) should only be used in case of emergencies.  Regardless, Melo and Collins are both big awkward players that offer...

Don't be shocked if Paul Pierce is added to the All-Star team

Paul Pierce wasn't picked as a reserve for the 2013 All-Star game, nor was he picked as a replacement to fill Rajon Rondo's vacant spot. This despite the fact that Pierce's numbers are remarkably similar to his his stats in previous All-Star seasons. Pierce has been on fire lately (A couple huge triple doubles included) and it appears there might be an All-Star roster...

Kevin Garnett plays point guard?

Who knew KG still (or ever) had this kind of handle? As the Celtics were starting their dramatic 4th quarter rally against the Bulls last night, Kevin Garnett delivered what for me was his most entertaining and impressive highlight of the season.  Garnett decided he was going to be the point guard. He held the ball near half court, directed traffic, and called out a play; just...

Paul Pierce offers to call your Valentine

Paul Pierce is just awesome at life. Not only is the guy one of the greatest Celtics of all time, but now he is also helping out his fellow Celtic fans in the love department. "Pierce tweeted his gift suggestion, a “Celeb Call” from none other than himself." Valentines Day is an awkward holiday. Guys feel a lot of pressure to go all out because those are the expectations...

Jared Sullinger Limited to Sitting in Recliner, Playing Video Games As He Recovers From Back Surgery

BOSTON — Jared Sullinger is spending his days lounging around, and it is terrible. The rookie forward made an appearance at TD Garden on Wednesday and expounded on his recovery from back surgery, which he underwent two weeks ago. Upbeat but clearly itching to play, Sullinger described a recovery that, so far, seems pretty boring. Sullinger cannot work out or engage in any physical...

Kevin Garnett Says This is ‘Definitely’ His Last All-Star Game, But Meaning is Vague

BOSTON — Maybe it was a slip of the tongue or a subtly placed hint, but Kevin Garnett left quite a few reporters scratching their heads on Wednesday. After the Celtics closed out the first half of the regular season with a victory over the Bulls, Garnett talked about the fatigue he felt after playing three games in four days and how the Celtics have managed to win eight of their...

Report: Celtics Guard Leandro Barbosa Has Torn ACL, Done for Season

The worst-case scenario for Leandro Barbosa‘s knee appears to have been confirmed. The Celtics guard, who came up lame during Monday’s loss in Charlotte, reportedly has torn the ACL in his left knee. Such an injury would end his season. Kevin Garnett told reporters in the locker room after the game that the team was informed Barbosa would join Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger...

Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan Highlight List of Best NBA Players Over Age of 35 (Photos)

Kevin Garnett grinned when he was told on Sunday that teammate Jason Terry was amazed at what Garnett was able to do on a basketball court “at 50 years old.” Garnett, who is actually only 36, shot back. “Jet’s no spring chicken, either,” he said. Garnett and Terry are two of the NBA’s oldies but goodies. Along with Paul Pierce, another player performing at an All-Star...

Celtics' Leandro Barbosa suffers knee injury

The Boston Celtics can't catch a break.  They lost their star point guard, Rajon Rondo, to a torn ACL.  Now, as the team has found a way to continue winning, they have lost another guard to a knee injury.  Leandro Barbosa went down after driving to the basket and making a pivot move. According to A. Sherrod Blakey of CSN Boston, the injury is likely season-ending.  Barbosa...

Will Houston really be Kevin Garnett's final All-Star Game?

Kevin Garnett has always been one to talk a lot of junk on the floor over the course of his 18-year career between Minnesota and Boston. But off of the court it is a different story.  Except this time around, the story surrounding Garnett has everyone in Boston mystified if the “Big Ticket” really is set to play his last All-Star Game on Sunday in Houston. This will...

Leandro Barbosa’s Torn ACL Continues Celtics’ Misfortunes

The Boston Celtics continue to get bit by the injury bug as Leandro Barbosa tore his left ACL. The Boston Celtics roster continues to be decimated by injuries. Leandro Barbosa injured his knee as he was attempting to drive to the basket on Charlotte Bobcats guard Ramon Sessions. The play occurred late in the third quarter of the Celtics’ 94-91 loss to the Bobcats on Monday night...

Bobcats snap Celtics 7 game winning streak 94-91

The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats battled it out at the Time Warner Cable Center in a back and forth battle all night. Bobcats snapped their 7 game losing streak in the win tonight, which also happened to snap the Celtics win streak. The second game of a back to back is killer, never mind when it’s a triple overtime game. This was your classic old, tired basketball team...

Comments from the Other Side - Bobcats 2/11

Bobcats fans seem like a decent bunch.  They are sticking with their team through all the lean years, which says a lot.   They also felt bad when Barbosa went down unlike several other teams whose fans would be cheering (or wishing for) an injury on the Celtics.   While I hate to lose any game, this one wasn't too bad.  They were competitive right to the end in spite of...
